PREGNANCY/BIRTH WITH FRANKIE
First things first, let’s get this straight: Frankie is the Ultimate Dad™️ and it begins in pregnancy.
Frankie builds everything for the nursery by hand, whether he’s using his skills he’d learned alongside his dad or just piecing parts together based on a manual. It makes things really cheap, too, which means that he can use the extra money to spoil you and the baby as much as he wants to.
He reads all those books about parenting but won’t make you do the same unless you want to. He’ll just spit out random facts that he thinks are really interesting.
Frankie’s already made a bucket list of things to do with you and the baby after they’re born. He keeps it on his dresser and the closer your due date comes, the more he elaborates on those ideas to you.
Also, he makes you every meal after the first time you start mentioning your sore feet and increased fatigue. Every. Single. Meal.
He’ll make you snacks, too.
When the time finally comes, he’ll pack everything up for you because it’s a little earlier than expected, but he wants you to stay as rested as you can with the pain that you’re beginning to feel before you head to the hospital.
He calls your families for you—including the boys because, yes, they’re family too—but after that, he’s by your side the entire time, his hand in yours and not even complaining once when you almost cut off the circulation thanks to the pain.
Frankie doesn’t complain because he’s so excited and he knows it’ll be worth it the moment your baby’s in the world.
And once it happens... yeah, he cries. But so do you. So it’s just you both crying over your precious baby girl and Frankie tells you over and over he knew it was a girl and he loves you so much and you’re the strongest person he knows and he’s a blubbering mess.
Frankie really refuses to leave your side but eventually you have to urge him to go and round up the families one at a time. First it’s yours, and then his, and then... the boys.
They walk in the room altogether and you can barely see them behind the absolute mess of different gifts they bought the minute they found out what the gender was.
Benny’s got a teddy bear that’s half the size of himself, Santiago has a mass of balloons with congratulations on them, Will’s got flowers that are all different shades of pink, and Tom has a little collection of different stuffed animals.
It gets so loud in there that the nurse has to shush them a few times. Thankfully, your baby already seems to be numb to the noise. The boys credit Frankie for that ability.
“It’s Catfish 2.0!” “No, it’s Little Fish!” “No, it’s Kittenfish! Get it?”
They all argue over who gets to hold the baby first. Santiago manages to do it first.
Once the day’s over and it’s just the three of you in silence again, you practically falling asleep on Frankie’s shoulder as he manages to lay with you in the bed, Frankie will shower you with kisses and remind you that he’s going to try to be the best father and husband he can and keep you both safe.
And you don’t have to make any additional effort to believe him.
