about the Death Song of Uther Pendragon. I thought he was a wraith in this episode? that the world of the dead had changed him, and that coming back to the world of the living had made him, like, a poltergeist (like in Supernatural)
Possibly, yeah, but one of the most important character traits of Uther was that he loved his son unconditionally, despite how much the two would disagree. Even in his last moments he loved him. Literally Uther’s final act was to save his son from certain death, and the last words he spoke were for Arthur alone. I don’t believe death would change that about him - it certainly didn’t for Ygraine, who barely even got to know Arthur (though how reliable her words were are up to debate).
I prefer thinking the thing we saw in that episode was another beast entirely. It might be a self-indulgent fantasy, but I would prefer to think that the real Uther is someplace happy, perhaps with his wife. I don’t know.
