How Plastics create Water Pollution?
As the population is increasing, unlike every other common usable thing, plastics have become an integral part of our lives. On-the-go lifestyles require easily disposable products like water bottles, cans but the increased consumption has lead to plastic pollution around the world. As it consists of numerous toxic pollutants, the environment gets harm in the form of air, water, and land pollution.
But in the current scenario, plastic pollution in an area creates a negative impact on the natural surroundings and the health of living creates like human beings, animals, and plants. Plastic is a useful material, involved in our daily routines from the food fabrics to industrial packaging but it is not biodegradable after the use which affects our health. Unfortunately, it finds its way to the ocean which drastically affects marine life.
We admit the facts about plastic pollution but we are not executing the plan to give up on these products to put a full stop on these toxic components. 8th June of every year is considered as World Ocean’s day for a clean and healthy marine life.
It does affect Human Health
Human health is adversely affected by the pollution area. It not only spreads in the oceans but it soaks the toxins present in the oceans and affects human life. These toxins are absorbed by marine animals. These cannot differentiate between plastics, toxins or food items leading to death and extinction of animals. Humans tend to consume the contaminated fish which leads to serious health problems. Plastic pollution is creating a harmful effect directly as cancer, birth defects, and low immune system.
The bigger picture!
This is the high time to consider this serious situation instead of bearing the consequences. We need to take immediate steps towards using reusable products to reduce plastic consumption and pollution.
