Rachel Entrekin averaged 13:20 pace to break the course record by 7 hours—on just 19 minutes of sleep.
Rachel Entrekin made history on Wednesday, winning the Cocodona 250 Mile in a new course record of 56 hours, 9 minutes, and 48 seconds. Entrekin won the race outright—holding off Kilian Korth, who set a men’s course record of 57:28:36—and she became the first woman in the race’s history to win the event overall.
Entrekin, 34, defended her women’s title from 2025 and took over seven hours off her time from last year.
Weekend training stats!
Miles run: 45
Blisters acquired: 0
Percentage of foot surface covered with KT tape, hydrocolloid badages, or toe condoms in order to achieve this outcome: ~80
Bugs stuck to my eyeballs: 4
Thimbleberries consumed straight off the bushes in the woods: I lost count
I Escaped from Meriden! And also Cosford, after three years of trying! 45 miles on the ground, though for the race only miles as the crow flies count, with medals at 30, 60 and 90. I made it to 34.
It was not a fun run. The first 15 miles were running and the next 30 were hiking as my knees and feet were increasingly painful. As always I headed out north-west via the A41 from Solihull through Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Albrighton, Cosford and finally Shifnal. Except for all the bits where I had to go around expressways with no pavements. Or floods. There were a bunch of floods. The rain had eased when we started at midnight but not stopped. My waterproofs mostly kept the rain out but the sweat in. There was a moment around 5am when I thought I'd hit a genius plan of drinking espressos instead of Americanos so I'd have to wee less, but I wasn't quite delirious yet and realised that was called dehydration and eventually kidney failure.
Still, I'm pleased with 45 miles. I'd've liked 50, but it was clear my knees wouldn't. At least I finally broke my 30-mile curse. More photos under the cut.
