Joyce wrote in Ulysses that "our national epic has yet to be written" when he was reminded of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Am I still on brand? At the fireplace of a friend's country house and still with a bushy #movember face, I take a closer look at branding with this branding iron. At the coalface of branding, we burnt brands into cattle and slaves and showed our ownership with these marks. Today, we proudly wear many brands and advertise their wares. Even today cattle wear tags as ear rings that resemble the security tags put on clothes and goods. I love looking at old things from another time as I read #joyce's #ulysses which was written in 1922 about Edwardian Dublin. His was a controversial brand and his books were banned and burnt but I'm sure that just made people love it even more. Am I still on brand with this branding iron?
