They have been a pleasure to work with and wrote an impressive press release for the show: UMA Gallery is pleased to present “ANATOMICALLY INCORRECT”, a solo exhibition of mixed‐media assemblages by San Francisco based artist Dianne Hoffman. Using found objects and recycled materials, Hoffman creates intimately scaled, three‐dimensional tableaux that give new life and meaning to discarded items. Further embellished with collage and other traditional media, each assemblage tells a story that reflects the artist’s curiosity, compassion, and sense of humor. Hoffman’s work is characterized by muted and earthy colors, creating whispers of nostalgia from these artifacts left over from another time. ANATOMICALLY INCORRECT is UMA Gallery’s first solo‐artist exhibition in the repurposed embalming studio of the Mosswood Chapel, a former mortuary located at 3630 Telegraph Ave, in the Lower Temescal district of Oakland CA. UMA Gallery is also the producer of Unkle Morty’s Pop‐Ups, a monthly market of independent arts & crafts vendors held on the First Saturday of each month in the same location.
