he spins her away from the crowd in the middle of the dance floor elegantly, the smooth movements of a boy who’s been dancing like this for years. ballroom dancing has always been one of his favourite things to do; it’s so fitting for a man of his status, and like ballet, there’s a hidden beauty within it. he’d asked uma to dance because it felt wrong not to after asking her on their date, and truthfully, although he’d been nervous, he doesn’t find himself regretting it. they come to a stop near the edge of the crowd surrounding the dancers, chad’s hand finding her waist to stop her from spinning any more, and his attention averts to the wide doors at the other end of the ballroom. they lead out to his favourite place in this castle: the gardens. no other gardens are as impressive as the royal family’s, and they make a perfect place to escape to. chad looks back at uma and leans in to murmur, ‘ let me show you the gardens. ’ before she can protest, he takes her hand in his own and begins to guide her away. maybe they can actually talk beyond him calling her tuna and him ending up arguing with her... and maybe then they’ll both know whether they made the right choice.
