When it comes to producing a song, Yuchan’s greatest challenge is to not overthink every part of it. He composes, layers the sound, experiments with the audios from the sound pack he recently downloaded, and then thinks that he’s shooting himself in the foot with how instrumental he’s making his choruses. It’s a long procedure of picking and choosing and writing. It’s longer than it has to be, because Yuchan is nothing if his music isn’t tried and true.

He snaps out of it earlier this time, though. Attention stolen by the studio’s door opening in the corner of his eye, he sits up straight and puts the laptop that was previously on his lap to his desk. 

It’s Kevin Yoon! It’s Cho Taejoon! It’s… Blue. Joo Jaeyoon (which Yuchan, currently high on the studio air, laughs at. Jaeyoon’s name kinda sounds like their names mixed together. It's funny.).

“Hey?” Yuchan attempts to greet him, his hands removing his headphones from his ears so that they’re placed around his neck instead. He knows about this one, but of course he does. Yuchan had made it his mission, when Remedy were a lot less successful that they are now, to know the artists that are above them: faces committed to memory like flashcards, a position written beneath each name, a conversational snippet that was overheard, or general perspectives that their mutuals or tabloids share. Still, he’ll pass it off as a question when he later asks ‘You’re Jaeyoon, right?’ with just the right amount of ambiguity.

Yuchan stands up, bowing a little. The most raw form of Kim Yuchan exists in the timeframe where he’s inside the studio– and there’s something about Jaeyoon who just stumbled in and smells of alcohol. He’s intrigued. He looks down at his watch, checking the time. “I don’t think we’ve met before, uh– do you need anything?” He continues, shifting around a little.

watched the new uncharted movie. really fun if you’re not too focused on making comparisons with the video games or aiming to write a snappy thinkpiece on letterboxd. the action sequences were very video game-y which is its own perk. i still think tom h is a charismatic actor in general and he definitely convinced me that he could play a probable version of nate.

but mark w was off enough that he felt like a clear miscast. i get why they were aiming for a more fraternal vibe but that’s never been nate and sully’s dynamic so it was just too glaring to ignore. plus i never got the sense that sully cared for nate in any meaningful way until the final moment. i will say that this movie has definitely awakened all those memories of me liveblogging uc4 and having a breakdown over the drake brothers so there’s that
