Her cries sound through the room, probably even through the hall and all attached rooms. Everybody who has settled down for the evening can hear her. Steve’s holding her in his arms, slowly rocking her, pleading her to calm down and stop crying. “Come on, sweetie. Don’t cry so much. Everything’s alright. We got you changed and you have eaten. Shh.” But Y/N has other plans. She shoves at his chest with her little hands, loud cries, and tears streaming down her cheek. Her face has already turned quite red from all that screaming. She already has a slight head owie, and she doesn’t want to be held. She wants to get down! “Y/N. Shh…” Steve tries for the next two minutes to calm her but the little girl is having none of it. Instead, her distress grows. She keeps pushing him, hoping he will set her down until he sighs deeply and sets her down on the carpet. Y/N is quick to crawl two feet away so she won’t get picked up again. Hoping to be far enough she settles there and continues crying. She looks around for her stuffy but it’s nowhere to be seen which makes everything even worse! Why does her friend leave her alone?
The doors that open startle her a little. She can see that uncle Stevie actually twitches a little, too. Sam and Natascha enter the room, both matching uncle Stevie’s expression, eyes on her. Y/N looks up at them but continues crying, changing her position to lie down. She doesn’t want to be watched! She feels miserable and her best friend is not here and daddy is gone too. “Hey man. What’s with her?” Y/N can see that uncle Sam’s motioning to her. He obviously has a hard time seeing her cry. His face looks pained and Steve would say he starts crying too soon, though, he doubts that Sam actually would cry. Natasha looks pretty much the same but she actually walks over to the distressed baby. “Hello Y/N. What’s making you so upset, huh?” She crouches down in front of her but as soon as she tries to touch her, Y/N starts screaming louder. “Noo!” She swats her own hand to get Nat’s away and it works. Aunt Nat quickly withdraws her hand, surprised at the outbreak. “I have no idea what’s wrong. Bucky brought her here two hours ago and she was fine!” Steve runs a hand through his hair. He guesses his own distress is written on his forehead from the look Sam sends him. “She started screaming about ten minutes ago. I don’t have clue what’s wrong. I changed her, tried to give her something to drink and food but she doesn’t want anything. She even started pushing me away and throws her toys around.”
“Well, clearly she doesn’t want any comfort, either.” Nat shrugs and stands up after a second attempt to touch her. Y/N has again spalled her hand away, even going so far as to turn away and crawl a little in the other direction. She can hear Nat leave her. “Should we get Bucky up? Maybe she misses him?” Steve runs his hand again through his hair, Sam crosses his arms over his chest. “Probably the best idea. Where’s he?”
“In the gym.” Steve sighs and walks to the coffee table to gather the scattered toys on the carpet to put on the table. Y/N turns slightly to watch him, seeing all the toys scattered around. Steve looks at her and passes her one of the toys though she doesn’t want to play. The music block gets thrown around again and a new wave of tears and distress flows through her. “Y/N, please…” Steve’s face crumbles a little more. For a moment he looks like he wants to lie down next to her and cry but Y/N knows better. Uncle Stevie never cries. He’s big and big people don’t cry.
For Steve, the situation is torture. It really isn’t a pleasurable thing to hear. As annoying as the volume is as it’s just as heartbreaking.
A few minutes later Y/N can see her daddy entering the room. He is glaring at the others for a second but soon his eyes find hers. Just like the others. “What’s wrong?”
“We have no idea. She’s not hungry or thirsty, got changed, doesn’t want to be touched, and won’t play.” Aunt Nat sums it up quickly, eyes focused on Y/N. Y/N has turned on her stomach again but looks up at her daddy with watery eyes. Her head still hurts and her eyes burn, just as her throat which makes her cry more. The tears won’t stop. “Hey, sweet girl. What’s up, hm?” Daddy walks over to her, stretches his arms out to pick her up but as soon as he has her in his arms she starts struggling. She doesn’t want to be held! Not even from daddy. She wants the owies to go away and she wants her best friend and not any other toys. Just as she did with uncle Steve and aunt Nattie, she starts pushing on Bucky’s chest with her hands, shaking her head, and tries to break free. “No! Nooo…”
“Hey, hey… Okay, no cuddles, I see.” Bucky frowns and lets her back down. She only flops over on the spot, still wailing and wriggling. Her head turns redder and hurts even more. “How long is she like that?”
“About fifteen minutes.” Steve sighs, his head in his hands. He will get tinnitus if she won’t stop soon. “And she won’t play?” Bucky asks, settling on the floor in front of the couch, not far away from his baby girl, eyes still focused on him. Y/N is too busy crying to pay any attention to her daddy. Bucky hums, keeping his eye on his daughter. Y/N turns around again looking at her toys that now lie on the coffee table but upon seeing them she starts crying louder again, trashing a little. The poor child really looks distressed and upset. Bucky’s heart breaks at seeing her like this, his hands twitch at the thought of picking her up, cradling to her chest and making sure she’s fine, fixing whatever makes her that sad. His eyes fly around over the coffee table to see all the toys scattered on it, only the blue bunny is lying on the floor. He picks it up and strokes through the soft fabric on its head. “Probably bored.” Sam pipes up from his spot beside Steve. All eyes suddenly focus on him. “What?” Steve and Bucky ask at the same time while Nat just raises an eyebrow. “I texted my sister, you know she has two kids. She says Y/N is probably bored and doesn’t want to be comforted. She suggests letting her cry for a little longer and then offering her something to drink. Bucky should stay close to show her he’s there, though.” Sam shrugs, waving his phone around. Bucky hums, turning his gaze back to the little girl. Y/N has calmed just a little bit, her cries aren’t as loud anymore, she’s more sniffling, really. She rubs her little hands over her face. She can see uncle Stevie sighing and stand up. For a second, she wants to cry again, thinking that he will come to her again but then she sees him grab her sippy cup. “I’ll fill the bottle up.” He grabs the bottle from the side table and walks off to the kitchen area. Everybody else sighs and Y/N just continues sniffling. “Thank god. I thought her head would burst.”
“Nat!” Sam calls scandalizes but the redhead just shrugs. “She looked like she would turn blue.”
“Hey, sweetheart.” Y/N’s eyes snap do her daddy. She feels sleepy. “Can you give daddy some cuddles? See I found Mr. Bunny and he told me he misses his cuddles too. Right, Mr. Bunny?” Daddy holds her friend up and the bunny nods, stretching his arms out for her. For a second there is an unsettling silence. Y/N thinks about crying again, she feels like she could but then again, she wants her friend and she wants some cuddles from daddy, so she lifts herself up and crawls over, collapsing against Bucky’s side. He’s quick to gather her in his arms, cradling her against his chest and kissing her head, the bunny gently placed into her arms. “Hey sweetheart, finished crying?” Daddy’s lips press against her forehead as she closes her eyes, nodding. She leans more heavily into him. Uncle Steve comes back quickly offering Bucky the sippy cup that he takes and holds out for her. “Come on sweet girl, let's drink something, yeah?” Y/N shakes her head but she takes a few sips from her bottle nonetheless. She feels kinda thirsty but quickly pushes pushing it away, hiding her face in Daddy’s chest. The brunette runs his hand up and down on her back, worrying a little if he smells like sweat but his girl doesn’t complain, so it probably is fine.
They all agree and hope that this won’t happen too often. Y/N doesn’t want to happen too often either. It wasn’t fun. Now everything hurts and she’s tired but luckily daddy is cuddling her now so it might be okay. Daddy even lets her takes his shiny hand and lazily suck on his finger since her favorite paci isn’t here.
Five minutes later, after the sniffling has stopped and they all have settled into comfortable conversation, Bucky looks down. Y/N has fallen asleep against him, eyes puffy and red with tear tracks on her cheeks. Carefully he wipes on her cheek, kissing her again. “Dream well, ангел.”
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Daughter!Reader, Uncle Steve, Aunt Wanda
Summary: Y/N loves her favorite treat.
Wordcount: 2185 words
Y/N might be small but she’s fast if she wants to be and she knows it. Especially if strawberries are around, she doesn’t want to do something relating to bath times and yucky food or her daddy doesn’t pay much attention. Right now, two of these factors are the case. Her little eyes caught the bowl of her red favorite treats in Wanda’s hands a few minutes ago. It’s now resting on the island in the kitchen area. She can see but not reach, which is mean. Daddy had said she can’t have any now since she just had lunch but that won’t stop her from trying. The only problem that she has to face is that daddy’s still holding her on his lap and he doesn’t look like he’s going to set her down anytime soon since he’s too distracted talking to uncle Stevie and auntie Wanda. Okay… maybe she has two problems. She knows she won’t really be able to reach the berries if she manages to escape daddy’s lap since they’re so high up but she had noticed the chair at the counter, so maybe she will be fine. Uncle Tony always uses a chair for things high up. She can do that too, right? If daddy just will let her down! She wriggles a little on his lap but he only tightens his hands on her and looks down with a light smile on his face. Before she knows what’s happening, she has his lips on her forehead. “All good, baby girl?” She stares up at him, a little startled. Suddenly daddy handles her in his hands, turning her a little so she’s almost lying against his chest, nestled in his arms. He presses more kisses to her cheeks and nose, tickling her with his beard. She immediately starts giggling and pushing at him. “Noo...” A gasp from Bucky lets her abruptly stop and stare in shock. He starts pouting. “No more kisses from daddy?” She frowns a little at his face. He does look sad… “Don’t you like daddy anymore?” His pout deepens. Steve snickers from the side though he stops as he notices a shift in her. “Sad?” Somehow, the fact that her daddy might be upset with her makes her sad, too. Her lower lip starts trembling and her eyes start to water, which seems to make everything worse because her daddy doesn’t only look sad but shocked too.
“No! No, baby girl. It’s alright. I’m sorry. I made a joke.” He presses her tightly to his chest now, kissing her hair, and his hands run up and down on her back as she sniffles. She doesn’t really understand what’s happening. Daddy looked sad but now he’s saying he’s sorry. What’s wrong here? Her fists tighten in his shirt and she hides her face in his chest, strawberries forgotten for the moment as tears start falling. Is she bad to make daddy sad? “I’m sorry, sweetheart.” His voice sounds sorry… maybe distressed. She sniffles a little longer, the confusion still mingling in her head, making her uncomfortable but she looks up at daddy. He still looks sad but he smiles now. Is he sad or not? Y/N feels a little overwhelmed and suddenly a little uncertain. So she looks around, searching for her best friend. She spots the blue bunny uncle Stevie got her at some point and stretches her hand out for it. Bucky quickly catches in and passes it to her. She wraps it in her tiny arms, instantly taking one of its ears, and rubs it gently against the tip of her nose. This usually calms her down pretty fast. “Oh, oh. You messed up big time Buck.” Steve pipes up, looking a little amused but concerned as well. Y/N quickly concentrates back on the stuffed toy. “I know.” Bucky whines, continuously rubbing his metal hand on the back of his girl. “Isn’t she only doing this when she’s uncomfortable or overwhelmed?” Wanda pipes up and ears a glare from Bucky that probably means nothing. Steve nods though. Y/N doesn’t really know what they’re saying but she calms down. She leans on Bucky’s shoulder and he presses his lips yet again against her cheek. “Better, baby?” She nodes and looks up at him. “I know you love me, sweetheart. It was a dumb joke. Daddy won’t say it again.” She nods again but this time her eyes catch the strawberries again. Might be the best chance she gets. She wriggles again, this time fully intending to get off daddy’s lap. “Hey, alright. Would you- Y/N! Stop struggling.” Bucky starts laughing and tickling her sides. She’s startled and screams which turns into a laugh. “I’m setting you down, okay? Just stop wriggling.” He smiles at her, presses another kiss to her forehead, and sets her down. He really likes kissing her forehead and Y/N loves when her daddy does it, though, it does tickle terribly. The moment her naked feet hit the carpet she runs off, not right into the kitchen but behind the couch, her daddy is on. He won’t pay much attention to her this way since he has to turn around. Though she sees him look at her and grin. She smiles back flops on her diapered but and starts playing with her bunny, only waiting for her daddy to lose interest.
Of course, Bucky knows instantly that she’s up to something. Y/N isn’t pretty good at hiding things. Even worse now that she does the same things every time. He knows that, as soon as she hides out of sight, that she has something on her mind she pretty well knows she’s not allowed. His little girl is just a year and then some but she’s damn smart. But he really wants to know what she’s up to so he pretends to turn back to Steve and Wanda, starting a half-hearted conversation once again, still paying attention to any naked feet on the cool floor around the carpet.
Y/N looks up again and sees daddy not looking. In a matter of seconds, she’s up, clutching her stuffed friend to her chest, and rushes off to the kitchen. The chair’s still standing there and Y/N is quick to throw her bunny on it before climbing up on it with only mild struggle. She has practiced climbing with uncle Tony recently. She has already managed to put her hands on the counter as she hears a startles shout. “Y/N! No, god! That’s dangerous.” She tries to ignore the shout, struggling to get her leg on the counter, and… yeah. The leg is up but now she’s stuck. She won’t get forth or back. But before she can start to struggle or cry in distress as her dawns that’s she doesn’t know how to proceed, two hands grab her under her arms. “My… You troublemaker.” The voice isn’t daddy’s since she can see daddy. He’s standing there, hand on his chest breathing fast with auntie Wanda beside him. She has a hand on his shoulder, looking at him in concern. Did daddy hurt something? He looks like her auntie when she falls and cries. “Y/N! You can’t climb on chairs and the counter. You could have fallen down and hurt yourself.” Her eyes instantly switch to the person holding her. Uncle Stevie looks mad but somehow not. He has her in a tight grip but it doesn’t hurt. Her eyes dart from him to her daddy and auntie and then to the counter. “Berry!” She points at it and back at stave. “Daddy no.”
“Yes. Daddy said no because you had lunch.” She pouts at Steve’s answer but hears a chuckle. “She’s quite fast and smart, huh?”
“Wanda!” Bucky looks at her with a stern expression but Wanda only laughs. Y/N continues pouting and starts trashing as soon as Steve gets away from the counter. “Nooo! Berry! Berry!” She quickly gets passed to Bucky who holds her just as tightly, not paying attention to her struggles. “No! There are no berries for naughty Y/N’s.”
“Berry.” Her eyes well up again and she reaches for the bowl that’s way out of her reach now. She sobs loudly but daddy doesn’t give up. He carries her away until Wanda sighs. “Buck. Give her a strawberry.”
“No, she just ate.”
“Come on. Just one. What’s the deal? It’s not like she’s getting sick from one and it’s been almost fifteen minutes since she ate. She will be fine and satisfied and we might not have to fear her climbing the counter for a while.” Y/N doesn’t really know what they are saying, only knowing that it has something to do with her favorite treat and that she’s currently getting farther away from it with every step her daddy takes. She cries louder, now seeing her stuffed friend still at the chair. This is just mean. Her daddy won’t give her any berries, she doesn’t have her blanket or pacifier and her best friend’s currently lying on that chair all alone. He probably is sad, too! “Berry! B-bunny!” She cries louder again not knowing which is worse. No berries or no bunny. “Fine. Fine! Oh my- Sweetheart, please. Stop crying. Daddy’s ears hurt. See, Stevie’s getting your bunny and Wanda will give you a strawberry. Okay?” She feels herself getting rocked and she hears daddy say something but words are hard to understand right now. She only knows her friend is sad. But suddenly the blue friend looks over daddy’s shoulder. “Hello Y/N. Please don’t cry. I’m fine and I’d like a hug. Can you hug me?” The head of her bunny tilts funnily and its arms stretch forward so Y/N forgets about crying and reach for it, pressing it tightly against her chest with only small sobs in between. “Ahhh… This is nice. Thank you”, the bunny says and goes still in her arms again. While she’s busy hugging her bunny, Steve breaths out in relief, glad he prevented further messy crying from his niece. Bucky sighs in relief as well, settling back on the couch with his girl on his lap now. He wipes some of the tears away and lifts her chin so the little girl has to look at him. “Y/N. no more climbing on counters, okay? It’s dangerous and pretty girls aren’t allowed to sit on them, remember?” Y/N frowns a little but nods. She remembers faintly that daddy said she can’t sit on the counter but uncle Sam and Tony always set her on them. It’s a bit confusing. She decides to listen to daddy for now. “Y/N, look what I got you. You up for one?” Her eyes look at Wanda and the… the strawberry. It’s the biggest one she has seen so far. It's almost the size of her hand. Her eyes go wide and her auntie laughs a little. Y/N almost reaches for it but then she remembers daddy’s words. ‘No berries for naughty Y/N’s.’ New tears form in her eyes and her animal gets lifted to her face to hide. She doesn’t see the adults frown and look at each other. “What did I do?” Wanda looks a little startled at the strawberry and then at Bucky. “Y/N, sweetie. It’s alright. You can have it.”
“N-no. Daddy no.” She sobs and leans against her daddy whose arms circle tighter around her, embracing her with comforting warmth. “Oh. Yeah, you’re right but you can have this one. You’re my good little girl again, right?” Y/N nods shakily. “G-good.”
“There we go. Now, do you want the strawberry auntie Wanda has for you?” She nods again but doesn’t look up so Bucky takes it from Wanda with a kind smile and holds it close to Y/N’s face. “There, sweetheart. A sweet treat for a sweet girl.” The thousands kiss gets pressed to her head and she shakily looks at her daddy before she gently takes the huge berry from him. Uncertain she looks at daddy and only starts nibbling on it after he nods encouragingly. It is sweet and proven once again that it's her favorite. She takes her time eating it, getting its juice all over her. But daddy only laughs and that’s fine. She figures if daddy laughs- he’s happy and if daddy’s happy then it means she’s a good girl. A good and tired girl. So as soon as the berry is gone, she reaches for her bunny but daddy quickly catches her hands. “Not yet, Y/N. let's clean your hands and face first so that Mr. Bunny doesn’t get all dirty, yeah?” Y/N really is too sleepy to complain, so she lets him wipe her face with the hated towel before her bunny gets passed to her. In a meter of moments, she finds herself nestled in the crook of her daddy’s arm, favorite blanket around her, pacifier in her mouth, and bunny on her chest. Bucky only needs to rock her a few times before she’s drifting off to a dream with gigantic strawberries and a big blue bunny hopping on grass fields with candy flowers.

Summary: Bucky goes Running with his freinds and best girl.
Wordcount: 1535 words
“Hey, hello. Wakey, wakey, baby girl.” Bucky steps up to the crib, his hand softly rubbing on Y/N’s little tummy to slowly rouse the small child. He grins at the small grumbles that she makes and the cute little wriggles. “Sweetheart, time to wake up.” He strokes a small circle into her cheek until Y/N opens her eyes lazily. “Hey, there you are.” He watches his little girl rubbing her eyes and lazily grabbing her stuffed toy to her chest. Y/N still feels pretty sleepy. For a moment she stares at Bucky, a little grumpy that he woke her up but then she grins and stretches her arms out for him to pick her up. She really loves daddy. “Did you sleep well, baby girl?” Daddy picks her up, snuggling her into his arms and kissing her head. She nods and grins but soon squeals and screams. Mean daddy is blowing raspberries on her cheeks. In a quick motion, she pushes her friend in daddy’s face. “Oh, Mr. Bunny wants some too? Okay.” Silly daddy now blows raspberries in her bunny’s fur. “No. no daddy.”
“No more?” She shakes her head with a grin, pulling her bunny back against her chest as she yawns, head flopping back on his shoulder. Then suddenly she looks around. Where’s her pacifier? She always has it when daddy wakes her up. “What? What’s wrong?” She whines and wriggles a little, then heavier as Bucky doesn’t catch on immediately. “Hey, hey!” He tightens his grip, looking at his girl to try and find out what exactly is wrong. All the while Y/N whines and struggles until she sees it. Her favorite paci is lying in her crib. She stretches her hand out trying to reach it. Daddy follows her hand and sees her pink pacifier lying between the blankets. “Ah, of course. We can’t forget it, can we now.” He chuckles and bows down to pick it up. Y/N squeals delighted at the change of perspective, clinging tightly to Bucky. The moment he straightens up she’s still giggling and accepting the pacifier, greedily sucking on it. “So, can we get dressed now, sweetheart?” She shakes her head no. She doesn’t want to get dressed. She wants to cuddle with daddy and her bunny and have lots of berries and kisses. “No? But Uncle Steve and Sam are waiting for us.” Daddy smiles a little, stroking his hand through her soft curls. “Okay, we make a deal. We cuddle a few minutes longer but then we get dressed, yeah?” This sounds fair. So she nods. Daddy carries her to the chair by the window. He always reads her stories there or rocks with her when her tummy hurts. So, daddy sits down with her, holding her snugly to his chest, with her favorite blanket draped over her. Y/N loves these moments. Daddy always strokes her back the right way and they look out the window. Sometimes they see funny birds outside. She sighs a little, continuing sucking on her pacifier and fisting daddy’s shirt. “Hey, little cuddle bug.” Daddy speaks up, his voice so soft and his eyes are gentle on her. She looks at him, curious what he wants. “You know daddy loves you very much, right?” He presses a kiss to her forehead, making her smile. Y/N lifts her hand from his shirt and touches his cheek but daddy’s hairs are tickling her and she starts giggling while daddy smiles and meanly rubs ich cheek in her hand even more. “Noo, ahh.” She screeches a little more and soon her bunny finds its way back in Daddy’s face. “Oh I see how it is. Mr. Bunny is your knight and protects his princess, huh? Well, then I have to tickle Mr. Bunny, too. Oh! Oh no. Y/N, princess. Help your daddy! Oh no, Mr. knight is winning over me.” Silly as daddy is he lets the bunny tackle him on his face, sinking down with Y/N on the chair, playing that the bunny is fighting him. “Princess, please. Rescue your poor daddy.” He looks pleading at her but Y/N is too occupied with laughing and clapping until suddenly daddy stands up and swings her around, bunny lying on the chair. “Haha, Mr. knight! You got in my trap! Now I have the princess and will tickle her and give her all the kisses.” Bucky laughs and starts tickling Y/N. She screams and wriggles while he carries her off to his bathroom with mean laughing. “Okay, pretty girl. How about we get you out of this yucky diaper and clean you all up, hm?” Daddy sets her on the changing table and Y/N nods, wriggling a little. The diaper is a little tickling and itchy and she might have peed while laughing. Bucky makes all sorts of fun things while changing his girl, from explaining anything to funny faces and tickling feet. It doesn’t take long until he has her ready and back in her room where he dresses her in a yellow jogger and a light blue Henley. Of course, with a white undershirt underneath it to keep warm. Some socks follow as well. Bucky had prepared some light breakfast which basically is some little toast squares which cheese and butter. As soon as Y/N has finished she finds herself dressed in a warm jacket, a scarf, and a beanie aunt Nat had gifted her. She likes it because it looks funny. Daddy quickly puts on some warm shoes and takes her favorite blanket with him after making sure she has her bunny. He’s already in his running gear and he knows that Sam and Steve are already waiting outside with the new Jogging stroller. “Are we going jogging now, baby girl?” Y/N just stares at him with wide eyes, pacifier bobbing rhythmically. “Then come on.” He holds out his hand and Y/N struggles a little to stand up but grabs his fingers tightly, letting him lead to the entrance. She wobbles here and there but manages without falling so far. They need a little longer than usual since Y/N can’t walk that fast with her little legs. Daddy isn’t carrying her this time but that’s okay. Y/N knows that daddy loves how she gets faster day by day. He always tells her and sometimes even complains that she’s already faster than him. Which is silly because daddy is really fast! “Hey, Buck!” Steve waves to his friend with a big smile on his face, sending a gentle smile and a tiny wave to Y/N. “Hey, Stevie, Sam.” Bucky waves and stops in his tracks, carefully letting go of Y/N’s hand. She looks uncertain to him and quickly fists his pants to keep steady and close. “Hello princess.” Sam crouches down to look Y/N in her eyes. She giggles but hides her face shyly in Bucky’s leg, glancing back up at the dark-skinned man. Uncle Sam chuckles and stands back up. “I see, Y/N and her little friend are coming with us and probably leave us all behind, huh?”
“You would be surprised. She can be quite fast if she wants to be. Especially if she gets some strawberries. Right, baby girl?” Y/N glances up at him with a soft smile and hopeful eyes. “Berry?”
“Later sweetheart.” Bucky smiles and runs his hand gently over her beanie. “Well, let's get started.” He picks her up quickly, swings her until she laughs, and secures her in the stroller. She continues giggling and Bucky swears he’s never getting tired of that sound. His heart fills with warmth each time. He would do anything for her to make her laugh like that. He drapes the blanket over her to keep her warm against the chilly morning air and kisses her nose before then they’re on their way. He chats a little on the way, only leisurely strolling through the streets until they reach their usual running spot. He can see that Y/N is already dozing off again, so he quickly starts jogging slowly which wakes her up. Steve teases Sam for a while running as fast as he can, calling ‘on your left’ each time he passes him as he did a few years ago. Y/Y/N finds it funny. Uncle Sam always groans then and uncle Steve shows his tongue. She giggles and squeals each time, even clapping once or twice. “You want to go fast, baby?” Bucky calls and Y/N looks up at him, nodding excitedly. Whatever fast means she wants it. And just then she is going fast. Daddy really starts running just a little faster and Y/N loves it. She screams delighted, laughing each time Bucky pushes the carriage forward a little faster so he can let go for a few meters before he needs to push it again. And Bucky loves hearing her so happy. He can see Steve and Sam smiling from the corner of his eyes. Though, after a while, he actually passes the stroller to Sam so he can go at his usual pace. Y/N is not all that happy but she squeals each time he passes her. He slows down to press kisses against her cheek or makes funny faces before sprinting off again.

Summary: When Bucky gets out of the cryo in Wakanda, hearing that he’s finally free, the first thing he asks about is his Child.
Words: 600 words
Author’s note: I finally managed to keep something under a 1k words. yaaay :D feel free to suggest things for this series here :D
James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes, born on March 10th in 1917. Ranked Sargant in WW II, fighting as right hand alongside Captain America and the Howling Commandoes. Kidnapped and brainwashed, former Winter soldier and assassin. Revived and brought back to Wakanda where he’s known as the White Wolf. A Single parent of a one-year-old daughter.
Never had he thought that there would be so many things he could be described as. Especially after being cleared of the words, he would never have thought to be a dad. But he is, and he is proud of it. The moment he was taken out of his cryo and declared healed in the best possible way he had immediately asked for his child. He still remembers the surprised looks on the faces of Steve, Sam, Tony and T’Challa. No one ever had known that he had a child, hell, even he hadn’t known. He heard just days before Steve found him and brought him away. After he got himself away from Hydra’s steady tight grip he had run, never stopping for long, though, there were the occasional cities he thought himself save in. And once in a while, he had a hook-up or two. Nothing serious. Or so he thought. One day, one of his hook.ups had tracked him down in his makeshift home and told him that she was, in fact, pregnant and that it was his child. She had wanted to get rid of it but he had begged her not to, really intending on raising the child. But things had turned out differently. Steve had found him, the Civil War happened and he got transferred to Wakanda. So, naturally, the first thing he thought of after getting rid of the words and all was his kid. Tony had actually done the searching. It had taken a week or two and while Tony was looking Bucky had a hard difficulty to settle down in the compound with Steve and Sam. He was always worried that his baby would have been giving away with no chance for him to see it and take care of it. Or worse. His hook-up had gone through the abortion after all.
Two weeks after Tony had found her. Bucky remembers being delighted and nervous. She had been put into child service and Forster care until they found the father so he quickly called and settled everything. In the progress Bucky found out that the mother of his daughter had deceased at her birth, complications had arrived but the girl was fine. She actually had filed him as the father but they still needed to go through a paternity test to be sure. After talking to the Forster parents, some supervised visits, and many paperwork he was finally allowed to bring his baby girl home. Little Y/N really looks like him with her soft curls and gentle looking eyes. She stares at him for minutes before starting to grin at him with the sweetest smile Bucky had ever seen. He loves her already and wants to give her whatever he can.
The first few weeks had been tough though. They had to get to know each other and get comfortable, Bucky had to adjust to living as a human being again and as a parent too. It was a lot but it worked out.
Now Bucky sits on the couch his sleeping child in his arms, the other gazing at him now and then. He looks down at her with a soft smile before leaning down to press a sift kiss against her hair. “I love you.”
