imagine uncle takasugi bonding with and getting really familiar with the yorozuya members, much to gin's distress/distrust. he practices kendo with shinpachi and offers concrit and appraisals. afterwards as they eat snacks (offered by otae, but edible) he talks to shinpachi about future plans and sometimes about the past too. he offers helpful tips on returning the dojo to its former grandeur. shinpachi brings over yakult to yorozuya and gin hears shinpachi using terms such as "not-that-bad," "reliable," and "caring" in respect to takasugi. that night, gin has trouble falling asleep. takasugi goes shopping and lets kagura tag along. he buys her clothes, cute accessories, and piles up on her favorite junk food. he listens to all her woes, and shows sympathy for having to live with a good-for-nothing over-grown child. and commends her for putting up with that idiot for all these years. kagura comes home and dumps all the shopping bag on a napping gintoki, who hears her sigh loudly and something along the lines of "i wish gin-chan would grow up to be more like sugi" and his fragile heart breaks into tiny millions pieces. takasugi brings different treats for sadaharu and pays attention to ones sadaharu likes better. sadaharu seems to give great preference to takasugi over gintoki in respect to snuggling and cuddling. takasugi takes sadaharu to walks and has no trouble getting him to poop. sometimes kagura and shinpachi comes along to the walks, and other times they all gather up buckets of water/water hose and soap up sadaharu to give him a nice, fun bath. gintoki watches from the shadows as takasugi mingles with his children. finally, gintoki can take no more and places a "no takasugis allowed" sign on his door. takasugi tears up the sign and questions the meaning of this rudeness, to which gintoki replies "this is MY family, go get your own!" which earns him a smack on the head. "i'm not gonna give that easily," challenges takasugi as he leaves. and suddenly gin feels really warm and satisfied, the pieces of his heart put back together. he proceeds to annoy the shit out of kagura and shinpachi, and sleeps really well that night. curious.
