There's this really beautiful song we've been playing in my wind ensemble for two years now. I thought it really represented how I felt about my uncle and who he was. And last year it was taken away from us before we could perform it at the winter concert. This year we get to perform it, and tonight I will be playing for him.

The more I think about our dance on Friday, the sadder I actually get because all I can think of is showing my Uncle my dress last year and him wanting pictures, and visiting him the day I went shopping in his rehab hospital because he was finally about to get out and go home, after months of being in Brigham and Women's, and this year there is no one to send pictures to, or to say that I take terrible pictures in dressing rooms.
