Looking Smart
Has it never happened to you that you see someone and you think "they look smart" or "they look dumb", but you cannot explain why? And then since it is bad to base this idea on looks, you wait until you know them better and see them working... And sometimes your first assumption is spot-on. What the hell did you see without realizing that triggered unconscious reasoning that made you reach that conclussion? This makes me think...because we found a good candidate. And he was good because his English and technical skills...but he also "looked smart", and it bothers me that I cannot say why and you cannot put that in the evaluation form.. (Also, I got confirmation that a person that looked dumb was, in fact, really dumb)
