LHOTALOS
This peaceful city was left untouched when humans settled in Raedia. After signing a peace treaty, humans agreed to leave Lhotalos as the main Elven state so long as the High Council would pledge allegiance to the throne. Lhotalos is unlike the other cities, there is a feeling of calm and serenity that washes over anyone who enters the gold and pearl gates. The elves who live here live off the land and do not require assistance from the other cities. Lhotalos is full of lush fruit trees and wild herbs, many of which are unknown to humans.
Aelone Palace - Aelone Palace is home to the members of the High Council and visiting representatives. Constructed centuries ago out of glass and gold and gems that still shine today, it is clearly one of the most beautiful buildings in all Raedia. The Institute of Magical Studies - The elves are famed for their aptitude for magic, and almost all elves interesting in furthering their magic refine their arcane abilities at the Institute of Magical Studies. It is massive, located a short distance right of the Aelone Palace, and there is room for up to a thousand can study there at once. The Village - The elven village is built unlike any of the ones in human cities, with many buildings going up as many as five stories for multiple to live in the same building instead of separate buildings spread out. They are located in a circular formation around the Aelone Palace, which marks the center of Lhotalos. The Market - The market is located a few minutes walk left from the Aelone palace, and shops line multiple streets. There is also a square near the middle of the market where stalls are set up selling all sorts of homemade and often magical goods, which tends to change from day to day. The Outskirts - The serene paths leading up to gates, the quieter edges where one can pluck a ripe fruit unable to be gotten from any other city from a tree, and all other areas bordering Lhotalos compose the outskirts.
WOODBOURNE
Woodbourne is a deep valley covered in forests and thickets. Some would say Woodbourne is the toughest terrain to cross, often newcomers would rather the challenge of climbing a mountain to Kelari than trudging through mud and thick layers of trees to get to the heart of Woodbourne. The city of Woodbourne looks like a rustic village of cabins, yet the clever residents live elaborate lives. This city is known for it's active culture and night life, the residents here are easy going and don't worry so much about traditions. As this city was originally Dwarf lands, the Dwarves still uphold their casual lifestyles and frequent the pubs.
Cardell Hold - Cardell Hold is home to House Whitemont and constructed entirely of Woodbourne wood. It is easily the largest structure in the city, and House Whitemont is known for making it open to anyone to visit regardless of their class, often providing much needed warmth in the cooler months. Harwood Pub - With Woodbourne being known for their nightlife only secondary to their wood, it's no surprise their pubs are famous throughout all Raedia, and rightfully so. Harwood Pub is one of the most popular, being open all night and serving some of the best (and strongest) drinks, as well as having life music at all hours. The Village - The village in Woodbourne is composed of wooden cabins that outsiders may frown upon, thinking them far from modern structures, yet they are well built, sturdy, and have survived the test of time. A wide cluster of cabins makes up the village, and though it is technically a village, each cabin has their own small plot of land as their own to offer some independence. The Market - The market is a large, open area, mostly of stalls set up by merchants, though there are a few long standing stores. Everything is sold here - from the lavish cloths and jewels a merchant has brought to lumber cut the day before to fresh food. The Forests - These forests surround the village and protect the residents from different threats. Yet much of these forests are not explored. It's unknown what creatures lurk in these dark woods.
LINHAVEN
Linhaven is considered a very rigid city, and is where the military base is located. Knights from all of Raedia live and train here. Linhaven is perhaps one of the more underdeveloped cities, with all of its resources and funding going into the army. Most of the citizens of Raedia avoid Linhaven, as it is heavily guarded and has the lowest crime rate. Those who do live here often have family in the army, and live here tax free. Linhaven is constantly patrolled and no one enters or leaves this city without the right authorities being notified.
Fort Ironworth - Fort Ironworth is heavily fortified, rigid, and quite plain - much like the city of Linhaven itself. With its defenses, it looks fairly grand from the outside (or at least, quite large), but inside is purely function and completely unlike the grandeur of the royal castle. Military Base - The military base is where all soldiers, knights, and others in the military come to train, learn and master their abilities, and stay in shape in case they should be needed by the crown for any reason. Almost all military lives and trains in Linhaven, save for some guards deployed throughout Raedia for various reasons. Secret Tavern - At the end of the market area in a seemingly mediocre shop selling various types of cloth that has existed for decades, after a certain time, they switch from selling their normal goods to opening a tavern beneath the floorboards where anyone with the password carefully given to those who won't enforce any laws on the quantity of drinks they consume or how late they stay out. The secret tavern acts as a haven from the strict guards always watching and allows, for at least a few hours, for freedom and fun. The Village - Home to the spouses, children, and other family members of soldiers, knights, commanders, and everything in between, residents of the village live in comfortably sized but modest homes with little beyond the bare functionalities. Most are sized exactly the same, unchanged as families move in and out, and it is located only a few minutes walk away from the military base. The Market - The market is heavily guarded to prevent stealing or any other illegal activity from occurring, and all stores and stalls must undergo a lengthy process of approval to ensure they are needed and are not a waste of space. Stores and stalls without proper permissions are promptly removed, with its owners either fined, imprisoned, or even exiled. The market tends not to be a very exciting place, most coming only to get what supplies they need and leaving soon after. The Outskirts - The outskirts are the heavily patrolled edges of Linhaven, and guards stand on alert almost constantly to ensure no one is leaving or entering without proper permissions. Little events of excitement tend to occur in this area, save for the foolish who attempt to leave illegally.
BIORA
There is barely a tree in sight in this city, Biora is full of flat lands and valleys perfect for growing crops. Biora was first developed as farmland when it was discovered how rich and expansive the soil is, supporting the growth of a wide variety of crops. While other cities are able to harvest small batches of certain crops, Biora is known to provide the other cities with a wider array of fruits and vegetables. Specifically Liriean and Kelari have the biggest struggles harvesting crops, and after each harvest the majority of Biora crops go to these two cities. Biora is not a rich city, there are very few large houses here and most of the residents are considered to be lower class. While farmers often own a lot of land, these farms have been passed down through generations and their upkeep is too demanding for there to be high profits.
Villam Keep - Villam Keep is home to House Agresta. It is on the largest plot of land of any noble residence, and the best farming land surrounds it to bring it in fair profits (for the nobles, at least; certainly not for their farmers who make meager wages). It is built to be wide and not tall, with thick stone composing its walls and an expansive courtyard in the center where rare and valuable plants are grown. Villam Gardens - Paid for and managed by House Agresta, the Villam Gardens are a large plot of land with at least one of each plant grown in Biora represented, and it holds a growing collection of other rare plants found throughout all of Raedia. Those in need of aid may come and work at the garden in return for food grown from the gardens, and it is often full of visitors having come from all across the land. The Village - The village is the most informal residential area in any city due to the wide spread of farms, however, it consists primarily of small homes that are as near to personal farms as possible without being too far from the market place and temples, which both serve as social centers. The Market - The market of Biora is small, with most selling homemade goods - wool from lambs, crops from their farm, clothes they have sewn - and stalls that can be easily put up and taken down. Seldom are there products from outside Biora since they are fairly self sufficient, but when they do, it is a great luxury and some put down enormous amounts of coin to purchase the rare goods. The market is also centered around the temples, where many gather in prayer and worship. The Outskirts - The outskirts are make up a large and wide area considering few know where the farms of Biora begin and end, and the roads to Biora are abundant, leading into one farm or another.
KELARI
Kelari is the kingdom of extremes, from ice storms, to jutting edges and rocky cliffs, this city is located amongst the rolling mountains of Raedia. Kelari was first inhabited out of necessity for gold, at the time of its origins no one thought the city was liveable for lengthy periods of time. But after decades of miners residing here, the city was built and now a wide range of people live here. However, the conditions of living in the mountain are not suitable for everyone, unless you have some form of wealth or income to heat your home it is almost unbearable to live in these cold conditions. Hunting is common in this city, and often there are large hunting parties to go after wolves and bears for their pelts. The people of Kelari live differently than the other parts of Raedia, they are more primal, and more in touch with the Earth as they do not have most of the luxuries of those living in Liriean.
Stone Hold - Stone Hold is the residence of House Lowell, well fortified and insulated. Inside, torches and fireplaces are almost everywhere to keep warmth flowing throughout the castle. Furs cover most the ground, prizes from hunts, and touches of their wealth are present throughout due to all their earnings through mining. Mountain’s Edge Crypt - Up until about a hundred years ago, this graveyard was used for nearly all of Kelari's burials, however, the location slightly down the mountain became too hard a path to often travel and too crowded. For the last century, it has been quiet, but recently, something even darker than death has been walking upon its grounds. The Village - The village is tight knit among all residents, with most the homes fairly close to each other. It is a short distance from the center of the city with Stone Hold, the temples, and the market, where many go to during the day to socialize and work, if one works in the city. The Market - The market is smaller and more compact than most, consisting of a street lined with shops - all indoors save for the pathway. Even those who don't own a shop of their own can set up stalls inside one large hall, so that people can view their wares without freezing. The Outskirts - The outskirts are the harsh mountain range that surrounds Kelari, making it a feat to even reach the duchy with the biting winds and bitter cold a constant threat. A resident of Kelari typically only braves leaving if hunting in a large group or traveling during a milder time - though a milder time to one native to Kelari is still a frigid winter to anyone else.
CATIA
Being close to the water, Catia has the largest harbour and is known for trading with foreign colonies. Catia suffers from the coldest winters and the strongest winds coming off the water. People who live here are immune to frequent change in the weather, and often anticipate the worst. Being so close to the capital, people often live in Catia but work in the capital, traveling between the two cities with ease. Those in Catia are crafty, and those born and raised here are born with sea water coursing through their veins. It is common for children to begin to learning to sail at a young age, such as four or five.
Keep Malgrave - Keep Malgrave is home to the ducal House Marlowe, and it is short walk from the harbor and only steps away from the water. It perhaps isn't the grandest of structures compared to many castles that exist, but it is well defended and sturdily built to hold off the harsh weather and the possibility of being the first city attacked in the case of foreign invasion. Credosa Harbor - Central to all of the residents of Catia is their attachment to the water and sailing, and central to the economy of Catia is the harbor for foreign trade as well as fishing to supply almost all the seafood in Raedia. The harbor is a crowded area of business and travel, with imports and exports being exchanged at every moment, with the smell of salt and fish constantly in the air. The Village - The village is where most residents that aren't members of nobility live, and the wealthiest tend to be closest to the harbor for quick access to business with the less money one has, the further from the harbor they are. Overall, it is heavily populated by the middle class with fairly comfortable homes very near to each other. Mostly, it is spread horizontally for even access to the sea. The Market - The market spans horizontally throughout the waterfront, with stalls and shops set up along the beaches stretching for what seems to be miles. The closer to Credosa Harbor and center of the city, the larger and more established the shops seem to get, and near the end of the market area, most are merely stalls made by fishermen selling their daily catch. The Outskirts - The variety of paths and roads leading up to the city, the edges where it becomes a bit quieter, and the rare open areas make up the outskirts of Catia.
