One of my earliest disappointments in life was when I began school and they had this really cool board in the foyer where there was a map and they stuck the faces of the students who were from other countries into the map. So one day we were looking at the map where they had stuck in two boys from India, Rohan and Danio, and one from Nigeria, Jonas, and I said that I was from the US, and asked why I wasn't up there. And the teacher told me that I wasn't from the US. And so I complained to the teacher, and then my parents, and neither did anything about it. Irish Schools taking away a student's right to a nationality, as decreed by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, and the United Nations Declaration of Children's Rights. Thank you, Scoil an Spioraid Naoimh. And in case you were wondering if they just didn't believe me, they also didn't have the other American student, James, on the board either. So idk if it was a cultural or racial thing, but it is one of the few things that I am truly pissed about, till this day, 7 years later.
