drew once again found herself in a chair in the hospital’s waiting room, bouncing her leg as she waited impatiently. admittedly, this time she was happy to end up in the hospital, with a black eye, a broken nose for what felt like the hundredth time, a cut lip, and multiple bruises over her body. she couldn’t wait to see that specific nurse again. she didn’t mind the pain, used to it by now after years of fighting. but she was glad when she could finally get up from the chair and get into the nurse’s room. a smirk was playing on her lips as she met the sight of her favorite nurse, closing the door behind her. “ miss me ? i’m back, finally. ” she said, sitting down in front of the nurse. “ how bad is it this time, huh ? ”

It had been a long day of visiting Oliver’s family, and then Cora’s parents. The kids had been rounding up gifts from both sides of the family all day, and all four of them now had piles to add to their spots under the tree. Cora had been having braxton hicks all day, but she had refused to let it get in the way of her family’s Christmas Eve. However, they were now on the way home and she couldn’t help but notice how her contractions were getting stronger and closer together. She gripped the seat as the next contraction took over her, her knuckles turning white as she held the leather so hard. 

Oliver pulled up outside the house and Cora stayed quiet about her condition, not wanting to alarm the kids as she helped them out of the car. She set her hand on her heavy belly and breathed through the next contraction, letting the kids go inside as she listened to their excited chatter. Once she was inside she pulled Oliver aside quietly. “Don’t make a big deal about it,” she murmured softly. “But I think you should call the midwife. I think I’ve been in labour all day,” Cora admitted, her grin half-nervous, half-excited. // @undergcldskies

after weeks of rehearsals and all the costume fittings and other prep for jagger’s tour, it was finally the opening night. malika didn’t even know why so nervous. she was confident in her skills and that she had all the routines down so much she joked about being able to do it in her sleep. but she couldn’t help freaking out a little, thinking about what if she messed up somehow. the closer it got to show time, she could feel the butterflies in her stomach. it was almost certain she’d be fine once she was up there but the anticipation is what killed her most. taking a deep breath, malika stepped out of the dressing room she was sharing with the other girls to have a moment to collect herself. she leaned back against the wall in the hallway. her phone in hand in an attempt to distract from her nerves while she was also still excited too.

Brow knit; jaw clenched. She had NO idea how she’d become so annoyed so quickly but she couldn’t stop her chest and cheeks from burning as they spoke. “ Oh my GOD will you just... shut up? “ She hisses, it might’ve been a good idea to breathe or to try and rationalize that nothing they had said was all that bad; that she was overreacting. But she could only taste bitter in the back of her throat; eyes shutting. “ FUCK, just... please I don’t wanna sound like a bitch but seriously my head is throbbing and it won’t stop and I’m pretty sure you’re the reason why. “

when shamir took the engineering internship in florida the last thing he expected was to get involved with anyone, much less a man. but something about nicholas captured shamir’s time and attention for longer than a few minutes. that was the way it always was. he’d take notice of a guy, he’d be attractive, but that was the beginning and the end. shamir wasn’t gay. he was the most heterosexual man you’d find if that suddenly included having a dick down your throat for four months straight but maybe shamir just had a different definition. when he was in florida, he’d spent nearly everyday with the other man. he’d finally gotten to experience what it was like to be true to himself and not have to produce this image of himself. once it was time for him to move back to texas for his senior year of university, he’d said his goodbye to nicholas and packed up. once he’d stepped foot onto baylor university’s campus again, he was the same man he was when he’d left. he was just leaving out of his apartment for a morning job when his eyes landed on a familiar face running in the opposite direction across the street. “nicholas?” he murmured, watching him before he took off after the other, following him. “nicholas!” he yelled, louder.

With a little pep in her step, she entered her favorite cafe clutching her journal and the new coffee table book she just purchased from the bookstore. It was about various table settings and floral arrangements -- which had caught Maxine’s interests recently. Her notebook had been filled with notes about it, including cutouts of those she could use for future inspiration. Tapping on the hardbound cover, she fell in line and waited for her turn to order; the usual hazelnut latte, of course. It didn’t slip her attention that the barista on-duty was the one she often sees whenever she’s there. She thought he was cute, had a nice smile and nose. She knew it might be a bit creepy on some levels, but she couldn’t help but smile a little towards his direction.

“okay so, don’t get me wrong, i like watching movies and eating popcorn but... we’ve been doing this the whole day and my butt’s starting to hurt. why don’t we go out and so something more fun? like... go out for a walk? hike? go to an amusment park? or by the beach! or anything that doesn’t involve being too lazy, the possibilities are endless!” she chuckled, gazing over at the other.

“you know booty calls don’t usual happen on saturday at noon,” noémie shook her head, looking up at the fellow with pursed lips.  here she was: makeup-less, with a loose crop top and men’s navy blue sweatpants, and bare feet.  nevertheless, her talons gripped his shirt, dragging him into her apartment anyway.  after flashing her adorably dimpled smile, she pulled his lips against hers fervently – tugging at the back of his neck as a signal to hoist her up.  “this one night stand keeps happening…over and over again,” she chuckled against his lips.  noémie was struggling to admit that maybe this was more than a casual relationship, but she couldn’t be the only one who thought so.
