For years this was not only my favorite of any pictures of me, it was the ONLY one I liked at all. My family was partial to it as well: it was held by a magnet on my parents' fridge for decades. Taken, of course, by my husband ( then just " partner in debt") @shawnkarabinos , this was our first out-of-state vacation. No convention involved, yet, at that point; however, as incorrigible #nerds, all of our vacations have SOME pop-cultural connection. Thanks to my little brother, an airline employee who would share his flight benefits with us, this was a trip to Seattle & environs circa 1992. The relevant references this time were: #UndergroundSeattle - #TheNightStrangler #CleElum & #RoslynWA - #NorthernExposure And in between, a brief but satisfying tour through THIS inviting town, #Snoqualmie - #TwinPeaks Coincidentally, en route to Snoqualmie from Seattle, we also happened to make a convenience stop at the travel plaza which would play a pivotal role in #TheVanishing released the following year.
