The explanation of the hierarchy of 404′s organization in Undertale Psi

In Undertale Psi, Error404′s organization has a hierarchy system. There is a basic one, that is mostly used to see how Error404 generally acts, and a more detailed one, used to see how Error404 acts for each member. The members see this more detailed one in 404′s behavior, and adapt their own behavior towards other members to it. The basic is the main-right side-controlled system, and the more detailed one is a ranking of each member by importance, which here will be stated with a number. A person would get higher in number if another member betrays or dies.

Controlled members

The controlled members are the ones that 404 has used his mind manipulation on to hire in his organization, something he doesn’t like to do. They can’t resist, and usually are there for a specific purpose. They don’t have 404′s help in anything, unless it’s to give them informations. 404 may manipulate how they think and how they believe they know their informations. However, they get to be the most trusted.

Right side

The right sides, which are most of the members, are of course above the controlled. They decided to serve 404 by themselves or were convinced, sometimes under a certain condition. They follow the orders of 404, and may sometimes know why he wants them to do what they do. They may get help from 404 for some of the business they’re doing, or may have entered to get some protection. It usually depends on each individual case.

Main

The main are people of an extreme importance for the organization, usually serving the purpose of gathering informations. This is the only known purpose currently. Due to their importance, while they can’t give orders to the other members, they can get private and very important informations from Error404 himself, that he keeps between himself and them. Now, here are the members. They are ordered from lowest/worst to highest/best, with all the known members.

10 - Overcorrupt!Sans - Controlled

Overcorrupt!Sans was primarly recruited and controlled because he was what we would call an asshole. He does the job of getting rid of dangerous individuals, but only as a last case scenario, usually not needed for anything. Due to his lack of general usefulness and due to the fact that 404 can’t bear him at all, he is ranked as the lowest, almost forgiven of speech by every member of the organization.

9 - Syno!Sans - Controlled

The reason Syno!Sans was recruited is unknown, though it is known that he had to be controlled. He infiltrates the Outertale meetings and tries to get informations from the protectors of the AUs, which he usually succeeds at. He doesn’t realize that he is controlled and doesn’t have the knowledge of 404′s existence unless he is before me. He becomes more believable thanks to this, fortunately.

8 - Frostscreen!Sans - Right side

Frostscreen!Sans was recruited due to his informations about the Fresh parasite of the snow, one of 404′s greatest fears, in exchange of the protection of his AU. However, he lacks the ability to speak, and isn’t trusted at all in the organization, though for no good reason. Some of the members are jealous of how easily he got the protection of his AU. He also usually doesn’t do much work for the organization itself, giving him a low place.

7 - Killer!Chara - Right side

Killer!Chara and Killer!Sans were recruited of the same time. They accepted the work for 404 so they could have Out!Code abilities in exchange. While both are efficient killers, Killer!Sans is preferred to them because he is more polyvalent, and because Killer!Chara has a less tolerable behavior. They rank low because they have no use besides killing, yet can prove useful from time to time.

6 - Killer!Sans - Right side

Killer!Sans was recruited with Killer!Chara in exchange of an Out!Code ability. They sometimes work together, but Killer!Sans has magic, which can prove better in a lot of cases. He is more known while not even giving a hint of the existence of 404′s organization. His allies also find him more tolerable than Killer!Chara, since he is more chill. He still only has the use of killing, which is why he ranks lower than others.

5 - XGaster - Right side

XGaster was recruited by Error404 after his plan failed. He was mostly recruited for his intelligence that would prove useful, and his potential to recover his previous abilities that could become extremely useful. If we exclude 404 himself, he is the brains of the team. He can also get good at killing his opponents. It has to be noted that the other members do not like him since he is arrogant and hateful.

4 - Error!Sans - Right side

Error!Sans was one of the first members of the organization, and is the main destroyer of the team. He has been pretty useful to the team, yet wishes to destroy the other members as well. People are neutral towards him, since he is not too hostile and knows how to behave from time to time. However, his lack of efficiency against codeless enemies forbids him for ranking higher.

3 - NewLie - Right side

NewLie is a recent addition to the organiation. She isn’t much appreciated from the organization because the other members believe that she should be more with the protectors than them, due to her beliefs and her actual goal. What makes her rank high is not only the fact that Error404 holds her in high regard due to her beliefs, goals and overall behavior, but also her incredible power, making her much stronger than any other minion of 404. The fact that she is codeless makes her useful against both coded and codeless enemies as well as coded ones, in opposition of most members of the organization that are coded.

2 - Opposite!Sans - Main

Opposite!Sans is a recent addition, whose main goal is to gather informations. He is incredible at doing so, and has a lot of knowledge about the Multiverse, while not needing to have existence kept secret and having relationships with the protectors. He can as such help in perdicting the moves of some enemies, while giving many informations.

1- King Multiverse!Sans - Main

King Multiverse!Sans is the oldest addition to the team, someone with an ability that allows him to watch over the Multiverse. He is useful is locating people, gathering informations, or even getting contracts with people, giving them the god status. The gods are his own servants, giving him great influence over the Multiverse, something very useful as well, though he is hated. He is also strong, and can fight codeless enemies as well, giving him a lot of use, which is why he ranks high. Well that was all for today. Have a good moment.

Clearing confusion

Recently, I have found out that people believe that Celerity!Sans has determination. I do not know why they believe so but I will make everything clear to avoid future confusion. First of all, you need to know that Monsters do not naturally have determination in Xénotale. The only Monster born with determination in this AU is Undyne, due to her half-Monster half-determination soul. Some Monsters have gotten determination through other means. In the eidocide route, Papyrus absorbs determination and somehow survives to it. Alphys takes a fragment of each one of the six Human souls, each containing a bit of determination. Gaster just entered in contact with determination, which is what made his skull melt a bit. You could argue that Flowey is a Monster, and yes, he’s born out of determination (among other things). To finish, while nobody makes such a misconception, the determined guard and the soular knights do not have determination. For the soular knights, it’s due to the making process of their artificial souls. This same process is what allowed the determined guard to make his determination staff, though it is merely a weapon. If he were to accidentally give himself determination with it, he would entirely melt. Anyways, Sans has never absorbed determination like Papyrus did in the eidocide route. In conclusion, he never got determination that way. My second point is that LOVE has no relationship with determination. People have been telling me that since Celerity has an extreme amount of LOVE, he has an extreme amount of determination. No, this is wrong. As explained in Xénotale: Celerity, an increase in LOVE is what you get when you get a sufficient amount of EXP (to make it simple). EXP by itself is a form of matter that comes into existence when EBM (EXP Basis Matter) is converted because of its transfer from one body to another, often due to death. When death happens, both EBM and EXP is transferred, which may lead in a LOVE increase. EBM/EXP and determination are two entirely distinct forms of matter, which is why Celerity’s LOVE doesn’t influence his determination. My third point is definitely something most people do not remember, but Celerity has an ability called DT Extraction, which allows for him to temporarily remove one’s determination. One could believe that since he extracts DT from its user, he actually gets it. No, he doesn’t. It’s just a removal, not an absorption. Even if this was an absorption-based ability, I highly doubt it would work on Celerity’s side. He would still not get it. One may argue that due to the backstory of his soul (the soul of celerity), he actually has determination in itself. This is my last point, and this one is a bit more complicated. To understand, I need to remind you all of the backstory of this soul. -A long time ago, Zeno extracted his soul from his body and it separated itself into four fragments. -Zeno took the polychromatic fragments and kept it with himself, not knowing what to do with it. -He eventually let the polychromatic fragment be in the royal laboratory. -When he eventually found out what to do with it and when it came time to do the thing, he took the polychromatic fragment, turned it into a complete soul, and gave it special properties. He then gave the soul to Celerity, in replacement of his old Monster soul. So, of course, I can see why one would think that since he has the soul of a Human-Monster hybrid (or at least a fragment of it), he has a soul with determination in it. According to Undertale: The Ultimate Timeline lore, this is completely wrong. In Undertale: The Ultimate Timeline, all observations on determination were made on the souls of dead beings, giving the Monsters the belief that the determination was coming from the Human souls. A fact, discovered at some point, is that determination is actually a brain product, always keeping itself near the brain and interacting fine with it. Determination keeps existing for extended periods of time as long as the brain is active, since this is one of the two only places it can keep existing for eternity in. However, when a Human’s brain dies, the determination, as if it were alive (though it is not), flees into the only other place it can keep existing for eternity in, that is, the soul. This is why determination is found in the souls of dead Humans in Undertale: The Ultimate Timeline. Extracting a soul from a living Human would lead to a lack of determination, instead only having its soul power. The determination soul by itself only increases the amount of determination the brain produces in that AU, and would theoretically help Monsters survive to the existence of determination in their body. There’s more to this lore, such as why Monsters do not have determination, why they can’t handle it, and why Undyne still has determination, but I will not reveal this for the moment. What you need to remember is that the polychromatic fragment of Zeno’s soul never contained determination in the first place, and as such, Celerity never had determination in his soul. Celerity’s lack of determination can be seen in story, as to get orders, he either needs to directly go to the headquarters of Zeno’s organization, or he needs to have a telepathic communication with Zeno (which happens often). This second need wouldn’t exist if he had determination, as he could simply be contacted by The Voice. The very fact that he is contacted by Zeno instead of The Voice should be a good enough proof that Celerity doesn’t have determination. I hope this clears this misconception. Have a good day.

Hi, I have a question regarding Alpha x Celerity, I hope you don't take it as an offense because I just want to understand what age do you assume Alpha is in your AU, cuz Celerity!Sans is 17 years old and 3 months old, which is kinda below 18. Then again, I hope you don't take it as offense. I'm not gonna refer to Alpha being homophobic because in the story I believe as I understand it is rather a another take on Alphatale along with Xénotale and so many more other AUs, so I just wanna confirm Alpha's age.

This is quite the obscure knowledge to an extent. Well, congratulations for having it. Just wanted to say that. And no, I don't take this question as an offense. Now I can give you an actual answer.

So, since the full answer will be pretty long, I will give you the short answer. Alpha is 13800 years old approximatively.

Now as for the long answer, we need to determine some Multiversal lore, and specifically the difference between physical age and Multiversal age in Multiversal culture, and why such distinction exists. In Multiversal culture, the physical age exists to tell how much the body of a being has matured. It's pretty much the age as you explained it. This is why Celerity is stated to be 17 years old. The Multiversal age, however, has a different purpose. It was made up to tell how long a person has existed in the Multiverse. Universes also have a Multiversal age, so this doesn't apply only to people. It is a simple measure of Multiversal time. This is also why Celerity is stated to be three months old, since he has spent three months as an Out!Code.

So, why does this distinction exist in Multiversal culture? Well first of all, the Multiversal time is not the same as the time in a universe. They flow differently. This is one of the two reasons Out!Codes separate them. The other reason is that this difference in flow has a secondary effect, as when you go outside your universe, you do not physically age anymore. This means that, for a random example, if a four years old person that gets their universe destroyed and survives to become an Out!Code, they will never get physically older than 4. Multiversal culture takes account of that, and as such, stopped caring about the physical age of a person when it comes to love relationships. Love relationships between Out!Codes are still extremely rare. Multiversal age is also not considered in love relationships since it is mostly used to tell whether or not someone has to be explained parts of the past of the Multiverse. The way people speak of events to a person depends on each's Multiversal age for example.

Alpha, while being 13800 years old approximatively in Multiversal age, has the physical age he had when he died, which I don't have noted anywhere.

Note that there are special cases of people when coming to this system. For example, while Multiversal age usually counts the time someone has been in the Multiverse (to not be confused with being an Out!Code, since not all Multiversal entities can travel from AU to AU), it is not necessarily the case. Some AUs may have existed or long enough (and I'm meaning at least years or even decades) without a LOAD or a RESET before one of its inhabitants becomes an Out!Code. As such, the time a person has existed in this universe (in Multiversal time) is added to the amount of time they have spent in the Multiverse for their Multiversal age. The first example that comes to mind is Great!Sans. He spent 102 years in Multiversal time in his universe without any LOAD or RESET, then spent 22 years as an Out!Code, making him actually 124 years old in Multiversal age. Those are rare occurrences though. A more common occurrence is someone being born directly into the Multiversal Void or an anti-void, where the time flow is that of the Multiverse. In these cases, the beings still age in the Multiverse, but age slower inside a universe. They will constantly age, and for them, their physical age and their Multiversal age will always be the same. This is still not considered in love relationships.

So, what about Celerity's exact age? Well, he's kind of a special case. After all, he often returns in Xénotale, his origin AU. He only returns in his timeline, the one he's beaten his Frisk in and the one the headquarters of the organization are in. To put it simply (and because further explanation in unnecessary), Zeno has locked aging in this timeline. It means that even though Celerity should naturally age physically, he doesn't. It also means he'll always stay physically 17 years old. This also applies to Xéno!Papyrus (which is 17 years old physically and 2 months old in Multiversal age) and Xéno!Frisk (which is 16 years old physically and 1 month old in Multiversal age).

If you're any curious, the age a skeleton has entirely physically matured in Xénotale is 25, meaning that Celerity has not entirely physically matured. However, he's still capable of reproduction (though he can't naturally reproduce with a male skeleton).

As for Alpha being homophobic, well, I can entirely discard it if I want to. Most of the Alphatale content in my AUs is inspired by Alphatale Prime. Back then, Alpha was not homophobic. The ship itself was created long before Alpha was made homophobic (the ship was created in January 2019 while Alpha was stated homophobic for the first time in June or July 2020). In Alphatale Classic lore, well, I don't even think it has been revealed how Alpha became homophobic. I'm personally convinced that it is due to religion, but believe whatever you want about it. Anyway, in this Multiverse, religion has never had much importance in Alphatale, if any at all. So, yeah, I don't see why I would write Alpha as homophobic.

As for different takes, what I write is actually canon to some AUs. Xénotale, Undertale: The Ultimate timeline (both being my AUs, but nothing in there is considered canon to Puritytale, at least now), or even Upsilontale (that isn't mine), along with some other AUs that aren't mine either. It's just to clarify, no offense.
