How to identify a Historical Wuxia drama:

A lazy edition. I have a Xianxia version, too, but don't know how to link to that one.

Sibling rivalry.

Family massacre.

Adopted/Partially adoped hero/heroine.

Colluding leaders.

One fatal life changing mistake.

Righteous people killed off.

Someone going down the dark path, but whom you can't hate.

A stuck in between fellow.

Framing innocents/People used as pawns.

Power play that makes you hate everyone at one point.

One sassy/childish/impulsive person who breaks all rules.

One person who is in hiding 30% of his time.

Mostly human characters, but atleast one character with high internal energy and martial arts.

Oh yeah. Characters exhaust themselves to point of death.

A duo/gang worthy of your attention

Awesome fight scenes.

Endless politics. (Historical exclusive. With rectangle table conference.)

People fight to be favoured by an emperor/leader who is too dumb.

Death. Including very major ones.

A fateful wild hunt ordered by officials that would ultimate lead to a turning point in the entire drama.

NOTE:

**Xianxia and wuxia requirements are quite similar. And I saw a post by someone asking about the Untamed. To me, after watching a few older dramas than CQL, it seems like Untamed is mostly meant to be a Wuxia drama, but they included Xianxia elements with magical objects and all. Other than that, the story follows the standard wuxia trope. Another drama like this is The Eternal Love ( The 2017 & 2018 one - Not Ten Miles of Beachblossom, which is 100% Xianxia.)

**I am not a person of Chinese descent and only watch Dramas and read translated books. These are purely based on repeated tropes I've seen in dramas. I maybe wrong on many accounts. So, I sincerely apologize to anyone who find this post offensive to their culture.
