Brush off the shelf, what are the characters used in the Undertale AU? All I know is that Ross and Barry are Frisk and Chara respectfully and Dan and Arin are Sans and Papyrus

That’s almost it, except that Holly is also Flowey/Asriel. You got 90% of it!

Plot Corner with Poco #5: Undertrain (Mini-Rant)

@pocotippy and I rant about loving Undertrain. Yay.

Legend: I’m also personally a fan of all of the Undertale doodles. I don’t draw them as much as I love the AU.

Poco: Dude the Undertale AU is awesome! Like evil child Ross is my life.

Legend: Especially asriel!Holly.

Legend: Dude, hell yeah I love Ross trying to coax Barry into terrible things.

Poco: Dude Holly is Asriel in the AU?

Legend: Yeah! Fluffy goat child Holly!

Legend: (But also temporarily evil flower Holly!)

Poco: My god yes!! Like aaaaa like Ross just tries again and again to get them to do bad things but it just doesn’t work.

Legend: And like it also pisses him off because Flowey!Holly used to be his best friend/partner in crime while she was evil and then Barry went and reformed her back into Asriel!Holly and NOW THEY WON’T DO EVIL THINGS WITH HIM.

Poco: And no he doesn’t like all the hugs shut up! He just wants to go back to murdering things but noooooo~ No He can only sit back and watch Barry, commenting and trying to tempt him to do bad.

Legend: He SUPER resents Barry because ROSS used to be the kid that went through all the trials and could decide how he was going to do things. And all of his hard work is just POOF gone because THIS GUY keeps mercy-ing people and won’t let Ross do what he’s been doing this whole time.

Legend: (Also it’s canon that Ross killed goat mom I’m sorry)

Poco: (O my god.) I love the idea that Ross is making as many really salty comments while Barry is doing his thing.

Legend: Oh for sure. The whole time Ross is just like “wow THIS guy is annoying, amiright? It’d probably be better for everyone if you just killed him.” And Barry is just like “Ross, that’s NOT going to work, stop it!”

Legend: Also Ross probably tries to kill Barry a couple of times.

Poco: But Barry is just like the best dodger int he world and Ross is like “wtf how do you do that?!”

Undertrain - Basic Plot

(Based off of Undertale)

Barry fell into a mysterious underground system of caverns and potential death and he’s just a small little child. If only there were a friendly goat mom to help him through these trials and tribulations, but sadly, there isn’t. All he’s got is Flowey, and that dickbasket just tried to trick him into hurting himself and demanding that the world was “Kill or Be Killed,” which is definitely not a way of thinking Barry wants to subscribe to. He’s lost, he’s alone, he’s got pretty much nothing on his person.

Then he runs into this kid. He’s got these rosey cheeks and he’s about the same height as Barry and, hey, he’s wearing a sweater that’s shockingly similar to the one Barry’s got on! This kid must be lost in the caverns, too. The only two humans in all of this mysterious monster land. And at first Ross plays along, but Barry starts to get suspicious as to why Ross won’t let him try mercy on all of these creatures they keep encountering. At this point, there’s enough blood on Barry’s hands for Ross to just let out the truth. And here’s the part where Ross let’s his true blood lust come to fruition.

Of course Barry is shocked. Of course Barry is now fighting to mercy everything twice as hard now. This is all going just as suspected. But that’s fine, because Ross is definitely stronger than him and they’ve only let five of their last seven encounters run free. That’s fine. And before any kinds of suggestions start coming out, no, Ross isn’t going soft.

As they go farther and farther, Barry begins to wipe the slate clean again. Ross can’t convince him to fight anything anymore. Not even the ridiculous skeleton with the obnoxious Jew fro or the stout one that won’t stop telling fart jokes. Barry just won’t kill.

He even spares Flowey, for God’s sake. When the time comes, Barry falls again and again just to save Flowey, reincarnated next to Ross, whose face is buried in his hands, begging for the moment that Barry snaps and says “Okay fine, we’ll do it your way.” Because that’s the only way Ross is going to get what he wants--if Barry agrees to it--and he hates that he’s at the mercy of such a nice kid. It’s not fair. And Barry never gives up. Not even when it looks entirely hopeless.

Eventually it pays off, much to Ross’s chagrin. Eventually “Flowey” is destroyed and the loving, innocent Holly is left behind. And great, now he has to deal with this one. Ross liked her better when she was an evil flower bent on destruction. Now she’s trying to “reform” him, as if he’d ever let that happen. And for some reason, she keeps trusting him, no matter how much he intentionally betrays her. It’s not fair. All of this was supposed to go his way, but now he’s sandwiched between two pansy-assed cuddlebugs and he hates how warm it is because the world isn’t supposed to be inviting and he’s supposed to be alone in all of this, but he’s not.
