#Repost from @underwondercontent •• @incubusofficial “Into the Summer” FUN FACTS & behind the scenes w/ director & DP @frankborin • The star of the video @lilxmenthol was discovered by Exec Producer @ivannaborin at a coffee shop in LA a month before the shoot and we got his Insta. I wrote the video treatment around him and when we hit him up about being in the video we discovered he had a brother @magic.dom who would be perfect for the other starring role. • Taft is patrolled both by the city police dept and the county police dept. Each has different jurisdiction over various streets. When filming the exiting the vampire lair scene, the permit office didn’t notify the proper police department. So the police got a call that someone was breaking into an abandoned house and didn’t know about our film permit. So they came in full force with guns drawn and detained us all. But they were cool and eventually let us go after an hour or so. The house has been abandoned since someone was killed in it 15 years ago and is considered “haunted” by the entire town. • We filmed in the same location in Taft that one of my all time favorite music videos was filmed- Smashing Pumpkins “Today” • The cave scene was actually filmed in a local bar whose walls were made of rock slabs. Through clever lighting, angles and some spider webs, you’d never know we weren’t in a real cavern. • The local actor we cast to be the vampire victim who had a lot of scenes got too drunk and couldn’t come to set. Minutes later a local man walked up to us on the street and randomly asked if he could be in the video. So we casted him on the spot. • This was filmed in Taft, Ca. over a couple days with a small group of friends we always work with.
