We sat down with @nurulrifayah to dive into her stories and ideas on youths in political participation: "This Bill is important even looking at it from an educational perspective. Without the implementation we don't know what is applicable and there's a lack of urgency to teach youths about political literacy. The government should approve the Bill because this is how we start to change and create agency within the education system as well. Why can't we write or talk about politics in SPM - we're not working with the government. We're going to school to get educated- how are we supposed to do that when these important topics are still treated like taboo? This Bill is not just important to educate people to vote but to facilitate them becoming more involved in our country and education system. If this Bill isn't approved, we're sending a message to 18 year old's that political awareness doesn't matter and there's not incentive to learn.
