UNDP : Did You Know?
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is 50! An Anniversary Ministerial Meeting will be held on 24 February 2016 to celebrate UNDP’s past, and chart a course for the future of global development.
To celebrate UNDP at 50, The Dag Hammarskjöld Library has compiled various online resources relating to UNDP and its work.
Creation of UNDP
In 1965, the General Assembly adopted A/2029, which merged the Expanded Programme of Technical Assistance and the UN Special Fund into the United Nations Development Programme. The resolution came into effect on 1 January 1966.
