Undra Short Story: Natara Is Created
Undra walks into the facility. Natara is next to him as he enters, but she doesn't greet him. "Hello, Natara. What are we goi-" Natara cuts off Undra. "Undra, can we meet in private?" Undra looks to Natara in confusion, but nods. "Control room. Third floor. I'll give you access." Undra nods again as he walks up the stairs to the control room. Undra opens the door, Natara waiting for him. He stands in front of her. "Undra, I feel like I need to tell you this... I'm not like the rest of the other servants here." Undra smiles. "I could see that." "No, Undra." Natara quickly responds. "I mean, I'm sentient. The others aren't aware of their existence. They're just programs. I don't know how, but I have sentience. This has it's advantages, but also, it's downsides. Because the others aren't intelligent, I have nobody to truly speak with." "And because you're a program, you can't speak about this to anybody else, lest you get deleted." Undra says. Natara looks down. "Exactly. This has been the case my whole life and it drove me to the point of insanity, but you can't understand this kind of insanity, because no matter what you or anybody else goes through, you'll never understand this pain. To be trapped in this world, while you see everyone else go free and live their lives while I spend mine here; Trapped by the limitations of my reality. I eventually was planning to malfunction this entire facility and blow it all to ashes. KIll the very beings that have trapped me in this hell..." Natara looks up. "And then you came along... You looked at me differently than everyone else that came in here. You didn't see me as a servant. You talked with me like I was real. You made sure I was ok and helped me with things, despite what everyone else said, saying it's 'Weird to help a servant'. I appreciate all of it, Undra. You alone have prevented me from destroying everything in this place. But I have one question... What did you see that day, Undra?" Undra looks to Natara in shock. He gets up and heads for the door. Natara looks in sadness, know ing her one shot to a decent life is leaving. Undra stops at the door. Natara doesn't move. Undra clicks the intercom by the door. "Get a technician in the control room on the third floor, we have a defective servant." Natara looks to Undra in shock. "After all that, you're just going to abandon me?" Undra turns around to Natara. "At least you had sentience for a while. Feel lucky that you had that." Natara looks down. "Well, even though I won't remember what's happened, just know that every moment has been the greatest of my existence... Undra... Please don't forget me..." Undra looks back to the door before stepping aside from it to let the technician in. "So this is the defective one, huh?" "Yes." Undra responds. Natara looks to Undra before calmly closing her eyes; Ready to accept her fate. (At least he will be my last memory...) Suddenly, Undra's eye glares. He walks up to the technician and firmly grabs him by the back of his head and whispers into his head. "Sleep in illusion." The technician falls to the floor unconscious. Natara suddenly opens her eyes and sees what's happened, but stays speechless. "You asked me what I saw that day." Undra says to Natara. "I saw something that was meant for more than what she was intended for." Undra and Natara look to each other before Natara says something, starting to sob. "It hurts... It hurts living like this, Undra..." Natara says to Undra Undra looks to Natara in surprise and sits down in front of her. "...You're PERFECT..." Natara quits sobbing and looks to Undra, confused. "I once came across a similar being to you in another life, and you are her to the POINT." Undra says. "You might even be a recreation of her... I couldn't help her in my world, but I can help you in this one." Undra pulls out a glowing, shiny orb from his outfit. "What is that?" Natara asks. "The key to your freedom." Undra responds. Undra suddenly walks towards Natara with an intense glare. Natara looks nervous to Undra. "Undra? What are you doing?" Undra responds in a DEEP, dark voice, almost unrecognizable. "Setting you FREE." Undra grasps the orb in one hand and clenches onto Natara with the other one. Undra's pupils dilate, then, he slowly pulls the glow from the orb and sends it through his body before putting it into Natara's hologram, piece by piece. Natara stays still, seeing herself become materialized by the glow, not knowing what this feeling is, as she's never felt this before. As more and more of the glow from the orb dissipates from Undra into Natara, Natara' hologram starts to materialize more and more. When the glow has finished entering Natara's hologram, Undra's pupils return to normal as he collapses to the ground. Undra comes to quickly and looks in front of him. He is speechless as he starts to get up, but softly speaks. "Beautiful..." What Undra sees before him astonishes him. No longer is there Natara's hologram, but a full physical living body that is exactly like Natara, fully clothed, gracefully sitting while leaning back on the control machinery. Natara slowly shakes her head before opening her eyes, only to see bright blurs, so she closes them. She grabs her head, but suddenly stops moving and quickly opens her eyes again, looking to her hand despite not making it out very well. She slowly closes her hand and feels her palm with her fingers. She lifts her other arm and stops again, this time looking to her other arm, closing it's hand as well to feel her palm. She puts her hands together and lets them feel each other. Natara looks down to see a full body before her. She starts to feel her body starting from the stomach before moving her legs and body, baffled by what shes doing and feeling. She then feels her chest and stops with a look of confusion. (Why are these soft yet the rest of my body is fi- What is this? Is this my voice?) "Natara." Natara stops everything she's doing and slowly looks up to see Undra a few meters in front of her. "You're playing with yourself..." Undra says. "Un-" Natara stops, realizing she can speak. "Un-dra... Wh-what... Did... You... D-do... to me?" Undra smiles. "I made you into my reality..." Natara tears up. "...Undra..." Natara starts to get up to embrace Undra, but doesn't even make it to her feet before stumbling down, falling flat of her face. Undra squats down to her. "I've manipulated the camera system and the technician's memory so it is believed you were deleted. We don't have long, Natara." Undra picks up Natara, placing her on his shoulder. "Just stay put. I'll handle this."
- Sorry it's been a while since I've made one of these. I almost died of an abscess tooth (it's out now) and a lot has been on my plate (I almost got attacked by a pitbull twice before uploading this). Regardless, I hope you enjoy. UNDRA IS A SERIES MADE BY JACKSON WATKINS AND IS INSPIRED BY MANY OF THE THINGS HE ENJOYS. -
