Spray Tan - Tips & Tricks
It is mid June now, which means we are getting closer to summer holidays. Unfortunately the weather in Germany is not any summer like. But this does not mean I want to give up a great summer tan. The health of my skin is incredibly important to me, so next to my nutrition and the daily skin care I try to avoid direct sun as much als possible. Most of the people nowadays lay in the sun for hours to get that perfect tan, but forget how it affects our health system immensely. I generally like my lividity, but surely a bit of tan looks always nice on the beach. Therefore I decided to inform myself about possible fake tan solutions which are simple to apply, look natural and preferably care my skin. At first I visited a spray tan studio and I was very happy with the results. But going to a studio every week just to keep up a great tan was not a solution for me in a long term. Then I got my hands on Spray Tans, which commonly do not have the best reputation due to numerous failure stories. To prevent your first try getting a complete defeat, I listed some useful tips for you.
1. Prime your Skin
The smoother your skin, the more even the tan. That is why I always recommend to peel your skin fir a start. Afterwards use a hydration lotion. Your skin absorbs the spray tan much better and it gets easier to evenly spread it.
2. Individually choose a Tan Option
There are several options available from gel, lotion or creme to mousse or spray. To decide what is best for you it is important to consider that the agent DHA is dehydrating your skin. Therefore people who tend to have dryer skin should choose a creme or lotion.
3. Start from the bottom
No matter which option you choose, always begin with the lower part of your body. Apply the lotion/gel/mousse/creme/spray in a circular motion to prevent getting unwished tan lines. Additionally it is really helpful to use a special glove to simplify the blending. For the face you can use a big and smooth powderbrush.
STILL FAILED?
And in case you still failed simply use some body oil to loosen the pigments. Afterwards I recommend to peel your skin thoroughly to remove your uppermost layer of skin. To add on, a little bit of bronzing powder in your face never harmed to smoothen and even the blending.
I really hope you enjoyed this article and I could help you to make your first attempt a lucky one. Lots of Love, Lena. xx
