Do you think the writers have any plans to make MacRiley happen eventually? If they throw everything out the window it’ll get the show cancelled for sure.
1- Sure the writers and the entire crew fucked up pretty bad with the whole baiting thing in 5x03. And yes, they were all wrong with what they did and I’m still angry at them for it. But you have to understand that getting Mac and Desi back together was a must. Before the season everyone knew the first half of the season was gonna be macdesi heavy, what really knocked everyone off was the way we were baited. If you see next episode, it’s about Mac meeting Desi’s parents, for that to happen Mac and Desi have to be together, hence the reason it happened in 5x03. The way they did it? Terrible. But that’s a different discussion. 2- If macdesi was canon and this was the endgame, it would have been much more of a deal. it’s not over yet. the writers, not any of the crews accounts have said a word about macdesi since 5x03, they’ve barely even liked any macdesi content. some of them said macriley will happen, we just have to “wait”. the writers account have been liking a lot more macriley content lately. To some it’s another “baiting”, but i’m gonna take one last chance at this and say we’re still in for the “unexpected link” (yea, i also think that’s something to get them together as well).
3- about the unexpected link, i think it’s bound to happen sometime soon. first of all, something between mac and desi has to happen. they need to break up ASAP, that’s the first major step towards macriley progress. second of all, we don’t know how long the season is gonna be, and from all the spoilers we were given, one is happening next episode (desi’s parents), another is the quarantine episode (russ’s love interest), that leaves two. bozer’s parents and the ““unexpected link”. if they spoiled it like that already, it’s probably already been written and planned out already. all we can do now is wait.
