Avery Ngo had been oddly fascinated with the theories and stories following Scott Sheffield's death, but she couldn't really find anything or get anywhere with it since it was still fairly recent. Instead, she asked her grandmother for advice who recommended she attend the movie premiere and following party. Avery had not been much one for parties or big events, but it was a chance to raise spirits, meet locals, and get ideas of what life would be like for her in only a half a year's time, when she turned eighteen. She glanced around wildly at all the bright lights and the even shinier people. So much to behold that she didn't see the person she bumped into, nearly knocking her own drink over. She whipped around and began to apologize. "I am so terribly sorry for being so terribly rude on this terribly beautiful evening. Are you alright?"
Not for the first time this night had Ruby been bombarded with questions for the Mayor. But Mayor Parish needed some air (i.e. may have been dodging some questions) so she was left to stave of the crowds momentarily. One of the ‘perks’ of being the one members at the office available to attend the after party. At least she was getting some compensation...and maybe she could do some sleuthing while here. There were some figures here she’d been meaning to track down and ask a thing or two, but she’d lost them in the thick of the crowd.
However, an approaching figure caught her attention. “Oh, if you have any questions for the Mayor, I hate to inform you but, he’s out for a few minutes. But I’m happy to assist you if possible...unless I’m just standing in the way of the drink cart again.” Was she doing that again? If so, maybe it wouldn’t be the worst idea to just take one - she could definitely use some relaxation about now.
Zeta shouldn’t have spent her money on some movie ticket, but she also felt like treating herself. She’d made a little extra cash from making some fake IDs for some kids and decided “what the hell.” She got herself a ticket for the premiere of the interestingly named film “The Valiant Fisherman’s Demise” and along with that came the after party. She wasn’t sure if she was the partying type, but she figured she’d give it a try. “Are all the parties in the City like this?” she asked the person next to her. She decided to give Dr. Sanders’s advice a go and branch out and talk to others instead of waiting for them to come to her. “I’ve never been to one. That’s why I’m asking. It’s a great party. It’s very nice. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the after party of a film premiere. Honestly, I feel like I don’t entirely belong here because there’s so many local celebrities here.”
Dutch loved going to parties. She loved the free food, the music, and she especially loved the free alcohol. She was able to snag a last minute ticket to the premiere of the Valiant Fisherman’s Demise, which was an interesting film. It did get a little more interesting when she started to watch the film through her spyglass. After the film ended, credits and all, she started to follow the crowd to the after party that was nearby. She pulled out a cigarette and took a drag when someone looked at her. “Did you want to share?” she asked with a smile. “Plenty to go around.” She held her cigarette out to them.
The afterparty for the premiere of “the Valiant Fisherman’s Demise” has been a huge hit for everyone! People were thrilled with the film and love the afterparty even more. From delicious food and fruity drinks to some upbeat tunes, everyone is having a great time.
However, as the night went on, the police received an anonymous tip that the person who killed Scott Sheffield is inside the party with the intention of harming someone else. Desperate to solve Scott’s murder, the police took the chance to surround the venue and lock everything down. That’s right. The party has been locked down. The music has stopped and the food and drinks are no longer coming out of the kitchen.
Everyone has been ushered into different rooms as the officers go around the venue to check IDs and search everyone for possible weapons. There are a few security guards to watch each room that groups of people are in to make sure nothing happens until detectives can inspect everyone. If anyone sees anything suspicious, they should tell a guard immediately.

There are rumors going around that the person who killed Scott Sheffield is also inside the venue of the afterparty. Everyone has been ushered inside into different rooms of the venue and are ordered NOT to leave under any circumstances. If they need something, they are to talk to one of the security guards watching over the room.

This is our second event following the Valentine’s Day Mixer and the Bewildering Blackout! Following the blackout, Victoria Bradshaw’s film premiere was rescheduled several times until it was rescheduled ten days after the blackout ended. Victoria’s film The Valiant Fisherman’s Demise had a public premiere with the event being dedicated to Scott Sheffield, the young man who died during the blackout.
Following the premiere, Victoria opened the after party to include anyone who had a ticket to the premiere. Usually, the premieres are far more exclusive, but due to the agitated attitudes following the blackout, she thought that it could help raise everyone’s spirits. There’s fantastic food, fine wine, and opportunities to meet local celebrities including Victoria herself, Michelle Chen, Lauren Valentine, and Mayor Thomas Parrish.
This event will kick off today March 27th and go until April 2nd. Please tag your starters as #unfortunate:event! Feel free to start plotting now and posting your starters. Starters can include the premiere as well as the after party. Anyone who wishes to rp on Discord or some other chat room should post their full thread when it is finished.
We are having our very first group event! Valentine’s Day is upon us and the citizens of the City love any opportunity to throw a party. Many places around the City will throw their own events, but the hottest place to be will be Veblen Hall, the multipurpose hall that is most often used for auctions. This year, Thomas Parrish has decided to throw a Valentine’s Day mixer in honor of Sybil Halloway. Anyone who attends the mixer will be asked to donate what they can to the charity that Sybil supported when she was alive.
Anyone and everyone are welcome to the mixer. Whether you’re single and ready to mingle or a couple, there will be something for you. Rumor has it, there will even be speed dating. Alcoholic drinks will only be served after 8 PM and in a roped off area in case any underage minors get any ideas. The mixer will open at 7 PM sharp and go until 1 AM. People are asked to wear their fancy clothing and something red.
