I mean we’re talking about an industry (especially in America) that thrived off of racism and racist stereotypes since the 70s. I feel like there’s a statute of limitations on shit like that, too. I can’t lie that I’m kind of side eyeing him, though.

I agree, as long as the person isn’t either defending their trash actions or still continually whichever ist they happen to be. And I mean, as far as Rami goes, Generico is a glaring problematic aspect that never ever gets talked about except in the shadows and that wasn’t just a one off gimmick.

Million times same. I in no way excuse it, but in comparison to some people, he was very young at the time and has been very socially aware and politically outspoken in the last few years that I don’t think he’d be defending his own shitty actions.

Back in the day, Sami Zayn had a racist gimick named Big Larry where he was a ‘white’ guy saying black. There’s a video of a promo that keeps going around periodically and everyone seems to think it’s hilarious when actually it’s racist and so uncomfortable.
