‘Death is not stagnant. Ghosts are always moving; they revolve, they contort. They retrace their last moments and heave themselves free from the white-washed walls, drawing their death song in sand to wait for tides. They pace with faces that bloom, that open and gasp in fretting fractals. Ghosts are a hollow throated scream through the mouth of a kaleidoscope. They hover in front of the morgue's silvery doors to study their reflection until they are no more than an emptied dish, no more recognizable than the shapeless face on the moon. 

Ghosts speak in static that congeals to a singular wish before an unseen cord rips them back to muttering, senseless pain. Loss tethers their jittering moments. Days drone them dormant until they remember, until they recall their own hopeless thrall. Most disappear with time. They are black mold that begs for bleach, they are the steady stream of wilting flowers in the observation hall. They are a ceaseless hum beyond the waxy gum in your ears. Some have names, some have stories. Some are neighbors, friends, and even family. Some stay awhile, but you know better than to mistake permanence.’

Only recently bereft of their loving father, the stalwart, Braxton Elwood - their reunion is sure to be a convergence even the whippoorwill and mealy worm will notice. Each of them, practitioners and playwrights of their own destiny, were scattered to amass success, rear their own families, and chase magnificence that Magnolia’s pinching territory might’ve denied them. But they each loved their father and honored their mother… and something has wronged them both. Answers, regrets, lost time and touch. Missing pages, stolen grimoires, a wretched disrespect. Did they think the children too far gone, too worldly to care if someone spat upon a dusty, old man’s porch? They were wrong.
