It’s fucking summer.
Awesome Places In The World ↳ The Union Bar, (Copenhagen, Denmark) [x]
Known by many as the speakeasy of C-Hagen, this interesting place is hidden behind an anonimous door in a secondary road of Nytorv, downtown Copenhagen. You go there, ring the golden doorbell and if you’re lucky enough they let you in.
You’re then led down the stairs, to this small but cozy, dim lighted space, flooded with Blues and Jazz music.
The atmosphere is typical 20s and kind of sophisticated: well dressed bartenders with bowtie, wooden counter and a floor to ceiling glass shelf behind it, full of different kind of bottles.
The drinks are some of the best I’ve ever tried, sporting peculiar names and pretty different from the ones you usually find in any other pub. The one up there is a 2 Finger Pistol, a strong, minty but really tasty cocktail.
There’s another hidden bar upstairs, The Bureau, but it is even more exclusive and apparently they don’t let everyone in.
It is a bit expensive but I think it’s definitely worth it. So if you happen to be in C-hagen, I suggest that you try to find it and enjoy a drink there!
