An enormous north-facing skylight is the focal point of this sprawling 3,000-square-foot loft at 60 West 15th Street on the border between Chelsea and the Flatiron District. Currently, the quirky artist’s quarters is also home to a large studio area, which, along with 11-foot ceilings, exposed brick and beams, and a very cool floating library cube adds to the ultra-creative vibe of the co-op, which is asking $3.995 million.
The current configuration offers two bedrooms and two baths. The key here is written in the listing: “All walls can be removed.” Also, a keyed elevator serves the unit directly. Mysterious art installations and lots of quirky details are somewhat less direct.
In the middle of the space is a floating”cube” that’s being used as bookshelves.
The open loft kitchen has all the basics and plenty of storage, though we can’t quite figure out why the exposed vent pipe is emerging from a regular-looking cupboard. Yes, that’s a tree.
There are two bedrooms and two baths (one with a washing machine and what may be the strangest inflatable we’ve ever seen). A window-wrapped corner office area is definitely not your usual nine-to-five headquarters.
