Pour over coffee is a simple and satisfying method for making a clean and flavorful cup of coffee. It allows you to control the brew time and extraction, resulting in a customized coffee experience.
Ingredients: 20g coarsely ground coffee beans. 300ml hot water just off the boil. Pour over coffee dripper. Coffee filter. Coffee scale. Timer. Mug.
Instructions: Set the dripper over your mug and put the coffee filter inside it. To get rid of the paper taste, rinse the coffee filter with hot water. This will also heat up the mug. Throw away the rinse water. Make sure the coarsely ground coffee is spread out evenly in the filter before adding it. Put on a timer and pour just 60ml of hot water over the coffee grounds to cover them. Give it 30 seconds to bloom. After the bloom, slowly pour the rest of the hot water over the coffee grounds in a circle, making sure the water level stays the same and doesn't rise too high. The whole process should take about two to three minutes. Take out the pour over dripper and throw away the used coffee grounds. Then, enjoy your freshly brewed pour over coffee.
