ive always hated when its called the chernobyl nuclear ACCIDENT
they didnt just break some vase, unit 4 fucking exploded (yes i know unit 4 itself didnt explode i know it was a steam explosion im very interested in chernobyl but this sounds funnier)
they knew full and well what was gonna happen, they just plugged their ears and pretended they didnt
the computer told them to shut down the reactor because it was unstable. they promptly listened and shut down... the computer
they turned off the emergency shutdown and emergency coolant systems and were surprised something went wrong. that didnt even cause the disaster. thats fucking stupid. the LEAST of their worries and problems was the emergency systems being turned off.
they kept trying to pretend unit 4 was fine and dandy while its corpse was spitting out gamma rays and instant death into the air like an anti air freshener. some dude couldve dropped dead in the control room from ars and they wouldve laughed it off.
you dont accidentally turn a nuclear reactor into a 1 billion dollar pipe bomb. there is no way you could do that on accident. they knew the risks of their stupid decisions. if they took their hands out of their asses and, oh i dont know, actually operated the reactor, thid post wouldnt have to exist.

We must overcome our gut instinct to assist an individual (splagchnizomai). I first encountered that word in this article, putting a name to a feeling familiar to all of us.
Look out! Here he comes!
