UNIT 38 INDICATORS 1

Description --> In this unit the author talked about the first part of the indicators, that contains the subjects of finance and economics, inflation & unemployment, trade and growth and GDP.

What I learned --> In this unit I learned about the first part of the indicators, that contains the vocabulary of:

Finance and economics: finance, high finance, finances, financial, economic, uneconomic, economical, uneconomical, economic indicators and economy. Inflation & unemployment: inflation, inflationary, inflation rate, jobless, unemployments, unemployed, and the jobless. Trade:balance of payments, trade balance, exports, trade surpluss, trade deficit and trade gap. Growth and GDP: Economic output, Gross domestic products GDP, Gross national product GNP, growth, and growth rate.

About Me:

I always have been interested in music from such a young age and age the of 15 I decided that I wanted to become a music producer while also doing music arranging, songwriting & composing. I know how to play Piano and I play various middle eastern percussion instruments. 

Main Musical Skills:

My main skills as a Pianist is that I am very good at improvising and I am always devoted in to a giving a %100 performance with my instrument. I am also to manage to play by ear so I don’t find it that hard to find melodies and chord progressions. 

Previous Musical Experience:

I have been a musician since the age of 5 so I do have some experience in performing even though I’m interested in the technology side of the industry. I was always invited up to play live at weddings & other family events. In the school band that I was in we did a couple of gigs at a theatre and as a result we decided to record a E.P which I consisted of 5 tracks which I helped with the recording and producing as well as playing piano on the tracks. As a music technician I have experience in studio work as a generally record people at my mini home studio.

Bio

For as long as I can remember I have always been surrounded by music a lot of people in my family and extended family were musicians & I was always fascinated by instruments.  

I started learning to play instruments at the age of 5 years old, I was taught how to play a Turkish percussion instrument called the Darbuka by one of my uncles who also taught me various other percussion instruments. With my Darbuka I used to perform at family weddings, birthday parties & gatherings.

At the age of 10 I developed a interest in Piano and the age of 12 I saved up some money and bought a keyboard at first I started to learn simple melodies then chords by again I would go to weddings or gatherings with my family and play for them. 

At the age of 15 I started doing one to one music lessons and I would start composing songs on the school’s Macbook on Garageband and I was fascinated by writing my own songs and recording them so I decided to purchase a iMac and some music software to see if I wanted to do producing as a profession. 

After about a 2 months I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in the music industry as a Music Producer I was also very interested in becoming a songwriter/composer & Music Arranger. 

At the age of 15 I decided to join the Miskin Theatre so I could learn more as a performer and technician. I started off on the performing side of the industry then decided to move on to the tech side so I could train and become a better music producer. 

At college I hope to learn more about microphone placement, how to mix better & how to Master my tracks. There are a lot of careers you can access through music technology But I’m mostly interested in producing and arranging.

After college I think I would prefer to get a job in a studio or something similar.

Unit 38: Mixed Media Image Making

Aim and purpose

This unit is designed to develop learners’ skills in creative and experimental use of non-traditional graphic media and methods in their design work. Learners will gain an understanding of the potential use of graphic media and the range of skills needed in order to exploit these forms effectively. Unit introduction The range and scope of graphic media products is wider than it has ever been. As the media and communications industries expand, the demand for versatile, creative designers is stronger than ever. Despite the largely digital or electronic nature of most vocational practice in graphic media, designers need to be able to use a wide variety of practices, tools and materials in order to meet the need for original, inventive design. Designers need these abilities and skills to compete and succeed in the industry. The use of the term ‘mixed media image making’ in this unit is intended to convey the use of a range of materials and processes not conventionally associated with graphic design processes in order to inspire creativity and innovation in design and concept generation. This unit is designed to encourage learners to be creative and experimental in their approach and broaden their experience of using non-traditional media and methods in their design work. Through completion of this unit, learners will gain an understanding of the varied nature of graphic media and the range of skills needed to exploit these forms effectively. Learners need to gain a good knowledge of reproduction methods along with an understanding of ways in which to implement these processes.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit a learner should:

1 Be able to use experimental and non-traditional graphic media techniques and processes

2 Be able to use mixed media in producing graphic image outcomes

3 Be able to select reproduction techniques towards graphic image outcomes.
