Ways you could have advertised Sense8

Ok. So, I was thinking about the fact that Sense8 didn’t have any promotion at all and I thought that winning all the polls online could be a great way of letting people know about this amazing show. This could give us actual visibility outside our fandom and maybe catch the eye of someone with a big audience (I’m thinking about Ellen because I always think about Ellen) (and because in my opinion if I have to aim, I aim high!) (I also think she would love the message of acceptance of the show).

But then I though “How could they have advertised the show differently?” 

Bare in mind, I don’t know the budget, I don’t know the media involved in this hypothetical campaign or anything really. I’m just throwing ideas like I would in a brainstorming session.

They could have transform a subway station in London in a Seoul one and vice versa (for example), with “Join the Cluster” on one side of the platform. If you wold have taken a picture, a link would have appeared on your phone that would have brought you back to the Netflix page, asking you to subscribe and to watch the show.

They could have used billboards with 5″ videos (black screen with static noise, Whisper voice saying “It is not a game. This is a war”, portrait of one of the character looking at the camera, payoff “We are all worth fighting for”, “Sense8 new episodes coming may 5th”, netflix logo) o even longer ones.

Maybe a 15″ video with a face composed with the details of all the cluster forming a new one. In the meantime we hear “Who am I?” then black screen, “Sense8 new episodes coming may 5th”, netflix logo.

They could have sent the cast on some important talk show like (again) Ellen, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel etc. They did this with others Netflix originals (like The Crown, Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black etc.) and of course they won prices and they gain a wider audience. Because people knew about them. I couldn’t find a single interview of the cast except for Google talk, Facebook chat or Netflix red carpet and I find it weird.

Those are just some ideas. Feel free to add yours if you want.

PS: if I made mistakes typing, I’m sorry. I’m Italian and I learned English by myself basically.

It’s not something I usually post here, but this tumblr is like my diary, where I put all my emotions so I want you to know that “Sense8″ is a huge part of me that lets me freely breath and be myself - proud member of LGBTQ+ community, proud global cluster member, just generally proud to be a human, a human like Amanita. This show got cancelled on the first day of LGBTQ+ Pride month and I want to tell you all, who loves this show that fight is not over and it won’t be over until Netflix will bring Sense8 back. I am one of the fighters and for the past days (it’s going for more than a week) I learned that Global Cluster is a huge family and that we’re not just a fandom and that we will riot! I highly recommend anyone to go and watch Sense8 though it ended with cliffhanger, this show is not complete, but it still teaches you the best lessons that you will ever be able to get. It is worth it, it will always be worth it. Guys, don’t think like “nah, it’s a stupid idea it will never work out”, it will if we will all unite and fight. Make the show that brings happiness, love, positive emotions come back to us. This show saved my life so many times in so many ways, it will help more people but we have to keep fighting.
