Today Was a Test...
Today was a test. Here's why...
I'm supposed to be leaving tomorrow for a 30 day fundraising roadtrip, setting sail in a rented RV from San Diego to San Fran in one, quick 7 hour drive...with the goal of raising $100K for young adult cancer by surfing 3,000 waves in the month of October on the way back down from SF to SD. There is one problem: I DON'T HAVE AN RV!
The guy who was renting me the RV sprung on me last minute(yesterday) that I needed additional insurance to cover his rig...which he already has insurance on...ahemm, ahem...mr. private party renter...this IS your responsibility if you're going to rent 'under the table'.
Anyways, if I were to get the insurance he is requesting I need to switch over ALL my insurance so the new insurance co (AAA) can extend an 'Insurance Binder', or temporary extension of an existing insurance policy...my current provider Geico does not do IB. AND, in addition to switching everything over, the RV has to be taken to a registered inspection station to get inspected prior to insuring. This is a lot of xtra work that wouldn't be such a PITA if he had told me 3 weeks ago when we first started talking.
I was so mad after speaking to the four insurance companies that could not provide the IB that I slammed my iPhone down on the kitchen table... I never lose my temper like that. I shattered the screen. So I spent 2 hours today in an MAC store trying to get my phone repaired...and it was packed with crazy humans all of which were agitated and ready to bulldoze some stranger over to get outta there sooner.
I was productive with the rest of the day...it's now 10:19pm and I still don't have an RV. But I am packed, with groceries purchased, and I have a pop-up trailer available with some electrical issues or I can drive my Nissan Frontier and be cramped for 30 days trying to sleep...or, I can rearrange my fundraising schedule and move over ALL my insurance to AAA and leave a day or two late.
Hoping tonight's sleep under a beautiful moon in Cardiff provides some clarity.
