a jock, the complete opposite to who she would usually end up with. but somehow she’s ended up sitting next to him, an awkward silence filling the air as she dwells on the fact that she’s trying to start a conversation about what she must assume is one of the worst things he’d ever gone through. surviving a masked killer wasn’t exactly the same as what she’d been through, but she could relate to dealing with so much death. and seeing it all. and the horrific way people could outcast you when you survive it. but she isn’t about to open up the conversation with ‘isn’t it cool how we both narrowly avoided death but lost people and parts of ourselves in the process?’. not exactly the best way to start. “i heard about what happened to you.” probably not a great way to start. “with the tapes and everything.”
