In the end; it did not take long, and nobody needed Mu Qingfang to confirm a pregnancy when they could all smell the change in Shen Qingqiu’s scent. The hormones made him more unpredictable than usual. Some days he could not stand to see their faces, and other days found him visiting their peaks in an instinct-driven flurry to cover them in his scent. Perhaps it was because he was not mated to Yue Qingyuan, merely pack-bonded, but it did become confusing. As the months wore on, Wei Qingwei admitted to his husband that he sometimes found himself thinking that he had put that child in Shen Qingqiu. It became a little funny for the kunzes and zhongyongs to observe the qianyuans being rendered silly over it. Jin Qingdao would reach for Shen Qingqiu without thinking, tucking him against his chest for scenting, and then his eyes would snap open as his brain caught up with his body. Huang Qinggua tried multiple times to come up behind Shen Qingqiu and stroke the mild curve of his belly as it grew. Perhaps it said something that Shen Qingqiu did not snap at him threateningly, only shoving him off distractedly whenever he tried it.

Huang Qinggua kissed up his body and came to settle along his back, one leg thrown over him to keep his hips still. “So good, shixiong,” he whispered, tucking his nose into Shen Qingqiu’s neck. “You really are so good to us.” “Shut up,” Shen Qingqiu gritted out hoarsely. “I’ve had about enough of you!” It was a pity the heat-haze wasn’t fuller; it meant that Shen Qingqiu stood a good chance of remembering most of this one, and he wasn’t liable to be happy about that, Mu Qingfang thought with a sigh.

It goes well until it doesn't: complications from Ning Yingying's birth nearly a decade before make themselves known, and Shen Qingqiu can no longer take a knot in the throes of heat. Mu Qingfang must figure out how to suppress Shen Qingqiu's heats and heal fractures and ligaments without taking away the scent- and instinct-based tools that Shen Qingqiu relies on to control his pack (and, implicitly, his life).

Hi, I hope it's okay to send this! In terms of your decision regarding uni I just wanted to say that using things like uni as a motivator IS possible. I was at risk of losing my internship after I graduated a few years ago due to ED and knowing that I had the opportunity to do something amazing and all I had to do in return was really try to eat was the push I needed. I know that's specific to me but hopefully it shows that it's possible :)

Of course it is okay! I really really appreciate you reaching out to me and sharing your experience with something similar. You are right, it can be and is a huge motivator, and I think for me I need to tell myself ‘I am going to do this’ and then I will likely not look back, however the longer I leave it and stay in this “Do I? Don’t I?” limbo, the more I drag things out, the less I am likely to commit to change.
