--- She felt the telepathic push before she realized what it was. Something was off, the TARDIS was pushing against anything she was trying to do. Like it was trying to keep her away from the SOS. But if someone needed help on that planet, she was going to do her damnest to get there.
Still, the TARDIS didn't just fight against her without reason.
"What's wrong, my beautiful Ghost Monument?" she asked, quietly but out loud. The cloister bell chimed which caused a surge of anxiety in her, though the Doctor quickly pushed it back.
That's when she felt the telepathic push.
"Oi," she shouted at no one in particular. "None of that now. Play nice, I'm getting there whether you like it or not."
Finally the TARDIS landed, roughly. She'd clung to the console as tightly as she could to keep from falling over. After taking a deep breath she turned....
And saw The Master standing in her doorway.
"What are you doing here?" she hissed at him. Was he the one that had something to do with the SOS? Something else?
Before she could get an answer, she felt another telepathic push, no shove. Like the planet itself was trying to make its presence known. After a quick glance at him, she realized quickly by his expression that was not him doing that. That he seemed just as surprised as she was.
"Alright, enough of that. Time to put up a shield...."
Ignoring the Master a moment, the Doctor turned to the console, pressing buttons, flipping switches, anything to put up a shield. The telepathic shoves had become almost painful since she'd landed.
Sparks went flying as she almost finished the shield. "What-"
She never got to ask the question as the force seemed to slam into her entire body. Suddenly her mind got even more loud than it usually was. "Ahh!" she hissed in pain. "No no no no what's this. Not good. Gotta get that shield up...."
Another slam into her mind and suddenly the Doctor found herself unsure. Unsure if someone was actually speaking with her. Unsure if she were speaking. She could hear herself, she could hear so many other people. Were they there?
"This is rubbish," she muttered out loud.
You're rubbish. You can't figure this out. You're supposed to be this genius? Pathetic!
"Enough!" she snarled back, out loud, forgetting the Master was still standing there. Her head started to throb. She felt sick. Whatever this was was affecting her more than she wanted to admit. "I don't know who you are or what you want, but I'm not playing this game with you."
You don't have a choice. You are the one who landed here after all.
"So, this is coming from the planet itself? But how?"
She didn't realize that the voice was only speaking to her through telepathy. No one else. Yet she was answering out loud. Then all of a sudden it felt like her brain glitched. She stopped, stared, momentarily disoriented for no real reason.
And then came another slam. This one brought her to her knees, the pain that shot through her head felt as though someone had injected fire into each synpasis. Clutching her head, the Doctor didn't realize she'd fallen to her knees until she felt the ache of them slamming into the TARDIS floor.
"I..." dizziness took over. She reached out as she swayed, not toward the console but toward him. The Master. But he was so far away, and she was so dizzy. Her body, her mind wasn't strong enough to withstand the onslaught. Her vision blurred as she collapsed completely, barely able to keep her eyes open.
She was surprised when she heard him, the Master, clear as day speak to her.
There was a panic she was feeling. What happened if she didn't get the shield up? What would this invisible entity do to her? Hell, to the Master even? What did it want? Why was it doing this? A trap?
Rolling over to her back, she look up to see the Master looking down at her, clearly concerned. If he was behind this, he was a hell of an actor. Heart rates spiked suddenly and she gasped in pain, reaching her hand out. Not understanding what was happening to her. And that was terrifying.
