Jeongyeon and Momo are roomates for their entire college life but Jeongyeon just finished college and is getting ready to move out in a last ditch effort momo confesses her love to jeongyeon
.jeongmo is the cutest, this ask is (^~^)
also i got a little carried away so warning this is kinda long whoops
momo has had the biggest crush on her roommate for god knows how long now. it hurts to see the bags in jeongyeon’s room and by the door. it hurts to realize that today is the last day that they’ll be roommates. it hurts the most to know that she has to do something, because she refuses to let jeongyeon leave so easily.
“momo, can you help me real quick?” jeongyeon yells from her room, effectively pulling momo out of her trance. walking in to the room, momo hardly recognizes it, all of jeong’s things having been already packed away, besides some clothes laying on the floor. “can you hold this bag open so i can get the rest of my stuff in here?” jeongyeon asks. momo sighs and whispers a small yes as she holds the bag. “momoring, what’s wrong? you seem upset” jeong questions. “it’s nothing, don’t worry about it” momo replies. jeongyeon knows better than to question her friend, and decides to let it go for the time being.
before jeongyeon leaves the next morning, they decide to get dinner at a restaurant nearby. when the meal was over, momo insists that they take one final walk in their favorite park. despite the fact that her crush and best friend was moving, momo manages to keep up her playful demeanor. they joke with each other, mess around on an old playground, and eventually end up huddled close to each other on a bench by the small lake in the center of the park.
jeong notices the distant look in momo’s eyes and it pains her to see her like this. she knows momo didn’t take the news about jeongyeon’s moving out easily, and jeong can’t blame her. as she stares at momo, jeongyeon wishes she would’ve said something earlier. she should’ve just asked her that morning instead of coming up with a lame excuse about putting clothes away. she should’ve-
“jeongie?”
momo backs up a bit from her spot in jeong’s side and bites her lip, clearly unsure of what to say. she panics silently for a moment before realizing that this is probably her last chance to go after what she’s been wanting for all those years. she finally decides to throw caution in to the wind as she stutters out her next few words, saying them too fast and stumbling more that she’d like to.
“i..i l..like you”
jeonyeon watches momo panic as she rambles a bit more, too shocked to say much. she snaps out of it and places her hand on momo’s shoulder, shaking the younger girl a little bit. “momoring calm down, i like you too”
momo peers up at jeong, a small smile gracing her face. “really?” she whispers as jeongyeon wraps her in a tight hug. “yes, really!” jeongyeon laughs, pulling back as momo looks her in the eyes. in the heat of the moment, jeong leans forward and plants a small peck on momo’s nose. the younger giggles for a moment before pouting at jeongyeon, “you missed!”. jeongyeon let a little sigh of adoration out before closing the gap between her and momo.
suddenly, momo wasn’t so worried about jeongyeon leaving her.
