❥ @unquell [ 𝙰𝚂𝙺 𝙱𝙾𝚇 ] : accepting ! ❝You're such a bad liar, Cato. I don't know how you've survived this long.❞
Critters operated in a gradual process underneath his skin, digging their miniature claws against his throat and numbing everything in its way, or perhaps that was the alcohol. Eventually, Cato’s pride had manifested into a sphere so large that it almost managed to block his esophagus, igniting bones from within and setting his world ablaze with words so little that one could count them on one hand. Underneath the pressure of a shaking hand and widening nostrils, his knuckles had taken on the color of the ivory tower he was entrapped in. His only thought was how to get Haymitch out of sight and snap his neck.
He gave the other a gaze that held nothing but unspoken warnings, eyes unwavering, lashes refusing to meet the other, as if Cato feared that if he blinked, he would have inched closer toward him. Teeth grind on another, lips sealed shut so tightly it barely allowed any air to pass through and yet he lets a chuckle slip through nonetheless. ❝I am better, that’s how.❞ Had he not curled his lips, he would have choked on the venom that splurged out of his lips at the thought of twelve. ❝I did not lie; you don’t know me. You and your disgrace of district.❞ His eyes flickered sideways for a moment, perhaps making sure that his own mentor was too far out of reach. It just takes a second for Cato’s fingers to encompass Haymitch's throat and slam him right against the column. Ragged breaths near in on the other, fanning his ear, the closer Cato leant in. ❝Come at me again and you will regret it.❞
