thank you! I am, I think evidenced by how many gifs I've been making per episode, haha. the downside, of course, is it makes watching a lot slower of a process when feeling compelled to make 3 gifsets an episode along the way 😅 but I like being able to pluck out an interaction or moment and shove it out there and like "hey, I feel something about this," and in a way that maybe other people also might appreciate.
when I was watching spn, I was writing up a recap with screenshots and snippets of dialogue from the transcript for the same reason but they ended up being so lengthy and unwieldy, I wanted to do something different with the current show I was connecting with. shorter posts, way more time consuming, but broader appeal

JC alluded to his 2nd heart surgery in 2014? He wasn't very clear about when it happened exactly, but that's what I got from this video. I was airworthiness that he got two surgeries until I heard it from the man himself.

Yes, while I still think he could have been written much better in the later seasons, filming POI was grueling for JC (and for all cast and crew really, I think an average day was 12-14 hours of work) and he's admitted as such. Shaw was introduced partly to halve his work load and there were endless discussions on if JC was leaving/when would he leave and why. His injuries along with the large distance between him and his family were common talking points.
Thanks for the interview, it was very enjoyable. I was aware that one surgery happened before POI and it checks out in the interview. He says "it got worse in 2014" so it might be that the filming aggravated his health and he had it some time after POI or before S5.
Really happy seeing you post HoTD because that means the show is good enough for a lot of GoT fans, and they have something to be excited about again. 😊

It has been good, thankfully, but so was GoT until D&D butchered it. There's going to be even more dragons in HoTD than there were in GoT, so that's always a plus in my book. Only time will tell, but so far, I've enjoyed it.
I still can't seem to get over how much Daemon sounds like freaking Ramsay Bolton, but I hope it's soon because Matt Smith is fantastic in the role. The rest of the cast has been really good as well and the special effects have been on point. We even got a new badass opening this week with a literal river of blood flowing through the symbols of the Targaryen family, illustrating both the bloodline of the family and the bloodshed and destruction yet to come. I didn't know how they'd top GoT's opening sequence, but it was not disappointing.
I think my favorite part so far has been the details and differences in the two dragons we have met, Syrax and Caraxes.
I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the ride while it lasts, my friend.
