At 4 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015, students from the Multicultural Center, Black Women of Achievement, Black Student Union, Asian and Pacific American Student Union and the West Contra Costa Unified School District participated in the annual University of Oregon Homecoming Parade.
While walking down 13th Avenue, students chanted, "Black Lives Matter", "Say Her Name", "Ain't no power like the power of the people 'cuz the power of the people don't stop", "No Justice, no peace" and "Education is a right, not just for the rich and white".
In addition, they held up signs that read: "Being Black is NOT a crime," "#WeAreMaunaKea," and "#NotYourAsianSidekick".
