So this is becoming a thing. Did this in TP 1 too, where I give the same instructions to each class and have them interpret it for the class photo. This time it was "go to sleep" and "celebrate". I love it cause the nuances in the photos say so much about them, both as classes and as individuals. And that's one of the things I love about teaching - even if the content is the same, every lesson is a different experience and challenge because we don't teach content, we teach students. So introducing to you... my students for TP 2! TP 2 was a humbling experience. Things that I regarded as my strengths were challenged and stretched. And then there was that time in my first few lessons where I got completely stumped while explaining something. Those few seconds standing in front of the class felt like eternity, but by God's grace, I was literally saved by the bell. I will never forget that feeling, nor do I ever want to. I felt like I lost the trust of my students (although on hindsight, I don't even know if they realised). That, coupled with some other stuff that was happening, put me in what might be my lowest point in my entire 4 years in NIE. But I'm immensely thankful for that! Because it jolted me into constantly rethinking how I can better teach the lessons and how I can better manage the class. And with the help of my great CTs, I grew so so much. Indeed, while no amount of lessons in NIE can compare to the training and growth this 10 weeks of practicum brought, it certainly laid the necessary foundation for it. (I also learnt how valuable good CTs/mentors and SCMs are which was an inspiring perspective) Thank you 2J1/2M, 3J1 and 3S1 for the past 10 weeks. Thank you for trusting me. I'll definitely miss you guys. Be good, stay in school, and if God wills, maybe we'll cross paths again some day. Until then, if you ever need anything, if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm always a PM away! Most importantly, Mr Aaron might be able to save your grades, but I hope someday you'll all know and cherish the One who can save your souls. - #UpandOn #Educators15 (at St Andrew's Secondary School) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxTg88Hl6VSVXvNV49K5q1HEuSC0BwNuB0i4rU0/?igshid=jjyo9v7x6zgl
