Yes, every Filipino knows this. The exam known for its difficulty- the UPCAT a.k.a. University of the Philippines College Admission Test.
My first test of the year! No aral, no worries, no sagot. Just kidding. Though it’s true, I did base everything on stock knowledge and instincts. I wasn’t able to actually review for the exams. The only preparation I did was to relax. From what I’ve experienced hours ago, the rumors I heard were true, the exam is hard especially if you’re not familiar with the terms. As for math, I didn’t find it strenuous since I am enrolled in the math Kumon program which helped a lot. I do owe Kumon a big THANK YOU! (and sorry for not being able to do my worksheets on time) The toughest thing I handled was to answer all the Filipino questions. I may be a Filipino, born and bred in the Philippines, but I find Filipino subjects extremely complicated.
The location that I was assigned in was the Imus Pilot School PTA Hall. I hoped it would be air conditioned, but unfortunately, it wasn’t. There were loads of wall fans, still, I could not feel anything from it. I presumed that 5 minutes later, I would be dripping with sweat which exactly happened. I wasn’t alone, everyone who took the test was already sweating except for my two fabulous buddies who can withstand any temperature -even with jackets. For Andrei and Ayra, I salute your talent and I’m really envious of your non-sticky skin.
To conclude, the exam was fun (said no one but me). Getting pressured on answering a lot of questions in a limited time while having the worst neck pain in the hottest condition, plus feeling greasy with sweaty armpits. Disgusting nevertheless, still fun for me. Btw, you still have to struggle with eating quietly when taking the test. There’s no snack breaks ,thus, you have to eat while taking the exam. Do you even know the endeavor of opening a plastic wrapper in a silent room?
And of course, who wouldn’t forget burger? (It has baconsssss)
To people who would take the UPCAT- Good luck!
I hope for the nonsweatiness of your armpits.
