Latest reduction print, a tiny  (2.5" x 3") 8 color piece, titled "Upper Jay, NY". Upper Jay, for those not in the know, is a teeny little town in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks.

Yesterday we held the first annual Green Grass Get-down here at SHC. It was a celebration of local food, a growing farm community, and an end to a long. cold. winter!

The event was kicked off by the release of our small herd of Brown Swiss onto pasture--always a fun and extremely gratifying thing for us farmers to witness, the cows' first day on grass was something we wanted to include the community in. Well the community turned out, and so did the farmers! 

The day went better than we ever hoped it would. It was such an inexplicably good feeling to be on our farm sampling out our cheeses to such an excited and supportive community on a PERFECT May day, surrounded by hardworking/ambitious/inspiring farmers while catching glimpses of our cows grazing in the background. Thank you to everyone who came, participated, supported, and contributed to the event. We look forward to next year!
