host headcanons go brrr

These little ghostly-looking guys are what I call "In-between forms." They are the closest thing to a Mime's base form ( those little orbs of light). Mimes go through these forms when they enter or exit a host. It is lucky for someone to witness this form, since this state does not last long when a Mime leaves their host.

In this state, they are as quick as light itself, but they are also extremely vulnerable. Being disrupted in this form can lead to catastrophic changes to a Mime's true form. Think of bugs that have just finished molting; they're very fragile u_u

Mimes can semi-leave their host, having their in-between form out whilst having some control over their host. Though many Mimes avoid doing this for their own safety.
