Paper I carries 200 marks and includes questions from History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Environment, Science and Technology, and Current Affairs. Paper II or CSAT also carries 200 marks but is only qualifying in nature, with candidates required to score at least 33%. Both papers are objective type and include negative marking.
Mains Examination: The mains exam is descriptive and consists of nine papers. Two of these – English and an Indian Language – are qualifying papers.
