Upstairs At The Western, Leicester
‘It was painfully, brilliantly surreal. It was also gratifying to be in contact with such a raw situation and (to) be able to intrude on that as part of an audience to your readings. It's like when you hear juicy gossip in a cafe and you really want to sit next to them and watch them, because human interaction is fascinating. I am not entirely sure what I have just seen, or how I feel about it, but I am impressed, and it was entertaining. Well done.
............................ It felt like more of an event, more of an experience than just watching a gig or a movie or a theatre production or whatever. That it touched on real feelings and it was all real stuff made it an event. The people I was talking to and the people I heard talking, were speaking about it as a memorable, iconic, special moment to be (present) at. It surpassed a show, it became something more memorable, strange and exciting than that. Cheers.
It's bizarre to become emotionally invested in real people in the same kind of setting you would a character.
So weird. So uncomfortable. So fucking cool.’
