Ok. Wow. So after I recovered for THIS answer.

It's... Painfully, painfully true. Like. This girl is torn UP about her past and that she can't remember her clan. She knows she's Dalish. She has no connection to what that means. She wonders constantly about who she may have been if her clan hadn't been killed.

She is always, always, always looking back, never forward. She doesn't even let herself live in the moment and she damn sure doesn't plan for the future. She carries the ghosts of 'what-if' like it's her duty; she is terrified of even the potential rejection from any of her clan that may still be alive, even if the odds of her finding them are abysmally low.

There is a reason Azzurra was easy to trap in the regret prison, and a reason why it nearly broke her mind being in there.
