No really, every modern song that successfully pulls off a good disco/funk sound is an instant classic. It’s the superior sound. I read a paper once that said the rhythms in funk and disco make people want to dance on a neurological level.
Plus the level of influence it’s had? Just Chic songs alone have inspired and been sampled in 100s of songs. It was and is the moment. But it was plundered and sanitized from its origins and now we have to hear some failed attempt at an edm disco beat in every other pop song, and they just don’t have the range.
If I have to hear another bland boring corporate “disco” or funk inspired backing track with no energy, no flavor 😩. I’m sorry most modern pop people but you aren’t the Bruno Mars you think you are, please leave it to the professionals.
SPEAK ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! disco had fun nd happiness woven into its core!!!!!!!!! nd damn near every disco song became a classic to be the backbone of new bops again and again. like future funk pop is just remixing disco songs nd other top 80s hits. disco hits SO HARD u can make a whole new genre from remixing it! nd ure soooooo right i wonder if that's why i get so mad when ppl drop boring wannabe funk tracks 😒 to try nd do a cheap soulless imitation....that should be a capital offense. its unforgiveable. i really wish we could get a disco 2.0 phase bc its what we need. enough whisper singing nd soundcloud trap beats i wanna BOOGIE!!!!!!!!
